How did you make the header image of your website?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

For my new site and sales page, I want to try several header images which would give strong impacts, and I want to split test them.

But, if I outsource it or asked someone to make the headers for me, then I can't easily change them later...for example when I wanted to try bigger texts, use simpler picture, different colours etc...

If I make the header images on my own, it won't nealy as professional looking.

What did/do you guys do for your website header?

Do you make your own header image?

Photoshop.

But there are easier solutions out there like GFX Writer V2.0 Header Creator | Create headers, ebook and report covers, graphic software boxes; low cost alternative to PhotoShop...

Actually I do have photoshop (my family has it)...and tried some free software (Xheader to be exact), but that made me just feel glad that I had never wanted to be a designer. :p

That's why I wonder how everyone else is doing.
I'll take a look at the software you mentioned, thanks!

Some of both - I design in Photoshop, but I'm really slow at it, so I outsource a lot to a few graphic designers as well. If you outsource the project and want to change things later, you can always go back to the graphic designer and see what they'd charge for revisions. Most are pretty affordable for minor edits - especially considering the trade off between money spent and the time it'll take to do it on your own

Thanks guys for your replies.
When you guys make a website (or a sales page or whatever), do you make one or 2 header images?
You can make many headlines as you want and split test them (it's only texts!) but when it comes to header images, it takes a lot to make one, let alone many to test them...

(And I ended up in using just blank paper style for my current product...while it works fine I want header images for my new products!)
