INTERNET MARKETING

That can

1. Automatically update the links in the menu of the page as I add additional pages.
2. Automatically create and update the sitemap as pages are added.
3. Create an RSS feed that can be submitted to RSS directories etc.
4. Directly FTP the new pages to my server.

I am going to build some adsense and affiliate sites with hundreds of pages each (unique content added daily not scraper pages) so Dreamweaver and similar software may become time consuming as I build more sites.

I was looking at XsitePro and where version 1 was good, version 2 seems to have a few bugs to sort out still. I just want to focus on adding content and not tackling bugs.

Wordpress is excellent with it's many plugins etc, but too many people try to hack these sites and you have to constantly upgrade to the latest versions and have certain security measures in place.

I came across SEO Website Builder but there are almost no reviews for this software and the ones I've found seem like a few years back. This looks like the closest software to the above requirements.

Now I know many warriors use XsitePro, wordpress and dreamweaver for their sites but anyone using any other site builder that is working for their adsense or affiliate sites that have hundreds of pages?

cost less than $40
has a raging support forum
developer answers questions daily
is updated every other month
minus
every year goes to new version and you have to pay for upgrades
affiliate program sucks - dont bother

I have mentioned it a few times here - surprised no one seams to rate it

Danny is right about wysiwyg webbuilder. - it is awesome.

Much simpler than almost anything out there and turns out an excellent site. Templates are also available. It just doesn't get the attention of the bigger name products.

Kevin, your requirements are fairly technical and specific.

I bought XSP pro and it does those things and I am please
with it. It has saved me a lot of time. I haven't found V2
to be excessively buggy - though I have not used it a
great deal yet.

Keep in mind that XSP has a large development team and
good support. SEO Website Builder looks like a bargain-
basement product with no support -
at SEO Web Site Builder
the first testimonial is from a guy who is now out of business, and
the second is from a site with one word on it. The third guy
is out of business as well - and if the http://www.theonlinebizplace.com/
is any indication the sites it makes will be old-fashioned in
appearance.

Have you checked out joomla. It is slightly more complex than wordpress as it is not 100% automated, and you need to understand the concept of php a little bit. But there are so many more features and add-ons to make the site look very professional.

  You could use SBI (Site Build It). I used to use them when I started but don't recommend them anymore because I know how to build a site without it and I can have unlimited domains now for about what just one site cost me with them.
  
  I use Xsitepro 2 and love it and Wordpress too.
  
  I've heard about the wordpress hacking issue, but what exactly happens? Do people figure out your username and password and then mess with your site?

  It goes from figuring out your passwords, hacking plugins and figuring out security weaknesses in older versions and you have to be constantly updating to the latest version, among other things, to reduce the risk.
  
  Do a search for wordpress security or wordpress hack in this main forum and you will see some threads mentioning it.

phpLD certainly fits with the 4 points in your request, except the last (wordpress doesn't use ftp either).

  I especially this is true for mods. There have been issues on new releases, but they are usually patched quickly. Wordpress has many more users that Drupal or Joomla, so it does make it a more attractive target.

  like XSP produces a more secure site than a CMS?
  
  Makes sense. A hosting account has one doorway
  for the admin. A CMS can have many I suppose because
  they all support multiple users.
  
  That's a sweaping generalization of course. In my
  own work with CMS I chose Drupal because my research
  inidcated it was secure and likely to grow more
  powerful with time, despite the steep learning curve.
  
  I will tell you this - XSP is a helluva lot easier to learn
  than Drupal.

I personally use Dreamweaver CS3 and soon DW CS4 to do all this and more BUT I am more of a professional site builder and don't need to rely on a specific tool. It comes down to your skill level and what it is you want to do, the type of sites you want to create.

The only thing I will suggest to you is that whatever you decide to go with for your tool of choice that it create 100% standards compliant webpage code with CSS to seperate the layout from the content. It is such a standard today to use XHTML and CSS based code that any tool that can not do this should be avoided at all costs.

Table based layouts are fine and dandy but if you can not easily read the content when looking at the source code then you are going to have a hard time with SEO and browsers not displaying correctly the web pages themselves. Standards compliance is a neccesity today.

My two cents on this topic. Not sure it was as helpful to you as other posts.
