Top 5 Traffic Sources

What are the top five free traffic methods you use to drive your website traffic.

For me I most use:

1 - Submit top quality spin articles to AMA (Amautomation) and reuse them on article directories
2 - Submit To Ezinearticles,goarticles,articlesbase
3 - Profile creation using sick profile maker
4 - Web 2.0 Squidoo, Hubpages, Webpaint
5 - Video's embedded on web 2.0 sites and in some articles as well as direct traffic from youtube

I do outsource all of the content, so its not free as such however I would like to know what all you warriors are having the most success with in term of free traffic methods.

Forgot to mention, that these methods I use are for the sole purpose of creating backlinks, to push pages to google page 1. They do bring traffic however 80% of the traffic ends up coming from google.

Nothing wrong with paid traffic, however to get my keywords/pages ranking well in google I have always used the methods as listed above.

Alot of you guys talk about JV'S/AFFILIATES this seems like a no brainer if you have your own product or are in the "making money online" niche but for me I am the affiliate.

When I think of paid traffic I think of PPC / Ad's on 3rd party sites. My understanding is these do nothing for SEO/backlinks - please correct me if im wrong here!

Paid can also mean buying links to bolster your organic listings.

      Paid links
      Paid press releases
Paid outsourcers to do all the 'free stuff'
      - videos
      - articles
      - comments
      - third party sites
      Paid SEO
Paid domains with Search Engine LINKS and directory listings
Paid Websites with PR, content and links ready to go!

And yes, you CAN have affiliates even as an affiliate.

You can pay per lead / email etc... CPA.

My own blog is a CPA payout and my affiliates send me traffic.

If you are an affiliate and you are not creating valuable bonuses that
you can sell as a product then WHY NOT!!!!

      Pay for content creation.

All the above are good suggestions, but don't forget about twitter. Twitter is an excellent resource for finding out the followers and lists of the best internet marketers. A tweet can be just as effective or more as a list. And it is much easier to get people to friend you on places like facebook and twitter than it is to get opt ins.

Definitely NOT knocking an email list. DO NOT get me wrong about that. Excellent idea, but don't forget twitter.

Right now I'm giving Onlywire a try. Basically I signed up to a bunch of social sites and I'm using their services to blast my content all at once. However, I haven't really built any friends or followers on any of these sites so its something you'd have to work on if you want other members to click on your links. On another note, I'd say if you could build a Facebook page and get a good fan base you could easily get hundreds of visitors weekly just from Facebook.

    Hey Aaron,

I totally agree with you on all of your methods. I find that there are two key things when attracting people to your business. They are:

    1 - Content production
    2 - Interactive media (web 2.0)

I have found that the latter is much more effective in actively bringing people into my business as well as making product sales because via interactive media (i.e. a blog), you build a personal relationship with your prospects and they get to trust and "know" you making a much stronger conversion from leads to sales.

That being said, the question was best ways to get traffic, not sales and so in that regard, I find that social media (especially twitter) is a highly effective way of getting great traffic because I can draw people to my lead capture page, blog or content. In addition to that, you can actively start building relationships through twitter which can shorten your sales process considerably.

5 Ways To Generate Low Cost Website Traffic

      Exchange Links

This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You'll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.
A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic.
Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines ranks high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the high costs.

      Traffic Exchange

This is like exchanging links but on a different higher level. This may cost a bit more than exchanging or trading links but could be made cheaper because you get to earn credits. You can use those credits when viewing others traffic, while you earn credits when someone views yours.
Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another's site or page. This is done vice versa where a site can use your sites contents and so can you to his or her site. You both benefit from each others efforts to generate traffic. The other sites visitors can go to your pages and know more about your site as well as theirs. Once again the public awareness of your sites existence is boosted.

      Write and Submit Articles

There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself.
Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has.
Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.

      Make a Newsletter.

This may sound like hard work because of all the articles you may need to use to build a newsletter but on the contrary, this is not so. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well.
As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site.

      Join Online Communities and Forums

This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities as well as your website. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site.
Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.

This post is definitely about free vs paid methods.

Free methods work. Paid methods work better.

Most free methods are great for back linking while most paid methods bring in more direct traffic that is far easier to convert. Further, paid methods generally require less work and work faster than the free methods.

For a newbie starting out in Internet Marketing, free methods may be all they can use. When the money starts rolling in, most continue doing the same old thing. If only they would reinvest this little money in paid methods, chances are they would do better.

As for how many methods can be used, I would say all. The trouble with this is obviously cost and time constraints. However, using as many as you can and doing this well is fine. Putting all eggs in one basket is always risky.

That said, if you can use four methods really well everyday, then there is no reason why you cannot succeed.

Top 4 Ways To Generate Low Cost Website Traffic

There is one hard and fast rule in generating income for your website: A steady flow of website traffic. If no one goes to your site, it hardly bares a chance of generating an income. Many sites have tried and failed in doing so, and these results to the sites demise. It takes money to maintain an income generating site; it also takes money to make money.

BUT, it doesn’t take a whole caboodle of cash to generate website traffic for your site.

Ever wonder how does big hit sites drive traffic top their site? Most of them are spending tons of money to drive the traffic to their sites, investing in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and gimmickries. This is all worthwhile because, well, they are what they are now, high earning, big hitting websites.

You don’t have to do this if you don’t really have their resources. There are many ways to generate low cost website traffic without having to spend what you don’t have or can’t afford. Many people have banked on high cost methods and have ended up losing their shirt over it.

Here I present to you the Top five ways to generate low cost website traffic that could help your site a whole lot. Even if you only get a small percentage of successful visitors in to client ratio it still works especially if you get a high number of website traffic.

    Exchange Links

This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.

Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another’s site or page.

Thanks for great ideas about bringing traffic to my website.

because I am on a budget, I normally do article marketing, web 2.0 properties as well as SEO, which is extremely time consuming
