Keyword basics: What are buying keywords

I feel pretty confident that I can look at a KW in MNF, GKT and seoquake and know if I'll rank for it or not. My real problem is finding those keywords that will actually convert into sales for me

Stuff like (how to) "get rid of problem" or "get rid of problem" (now) make sense to me; they indicate a person that needs something fixed. But what else indicates a keyword is actually worth pursuing? I feel like I rank for way to many keywords that don't convert into actual buyers.

Thanks

A buying keyword is exactly what it sounds like. "get rid of problem" type keywords are information key searches. They are probably not ready yet to buy a solution and want more information first.

    Buying keywords would be:

    Small Toilet Brush
    Acne Removal Cream
    Rose Flower Pots
    cheap mobile phones
    etc.

The words "buy" and "purchase" are actual buying keywords (e.g., "buy dog bed"). "Review" is another one, as it often indicates someone on the edge of buying. "Compare" is similar to review.

      Here are some other ideas...

Sometimes folks who're getting ready to buy look for specific payment options. So look for words like:

      PayPal
      Credit card
      Clickbank
      Layaway
      Installment
      Payments
      Discover
      American Express
      Visa
      Mastercard
      Accept checks

They might look for discounts/affordability such as:
      Discounts
      Coupons
      Sale
      Sale price
      Cheap
      Affordable
      Clearance
      Bargain
      Auction
      Low price
      Price match
      Best price
      Compare prices

They might look for specific shipping options:
      Free shipping
      Overnight shipping
      Cheap shipping
      UPS shipping
      FedEx shipping
      Discount shipping
      Fast shipping
      Canada shipping
      U.S. shipping
      Shipping to [whatever location]
      Gift wrapping
      Gift cards

These are not exhaustive lists, but they should get you thinking about similar words.

Depending on what you're selling, you might also find people using words like "no contract," or "fees" (instead of prices), etc.

      Cheers,
      Becky
