Getting EZA ranked well

A lot of factors effect the rankings of certain articles.

Look at the age of your competitors articles as some of the older one's have had time to build up page rank over time which helps them. The authors could also be sending fake hits to them (which is against the TOS of EZA but I still hear people doing it even though I wouldn't).

If your competitor articles are ranking higher then use a firefox plugin like SEOQuake and check to see what type of backlinks they are getting and then reverse engineer them to get yours on top of theirs.

One is to be sure your keywords are in your title, and at the FRONT of the title.

this is what I suggest doing.

Fire up Excel, Google KW Tool, and Google Insights
start finding long-tailed keywords and put them in the spreadsheet.
pick one with 10k, one with 20k, one with 30k, one with 40k...... all the way to 100k
pay attention to the search results and gauge how difficult it will be to rank
Write the articles and see which ones rank, and at what point you stop ranking
build links and report back to spreadsheet

doing that will give you a good idea of what you are capable of doing with your skills

My competitions article is 2 years old, so maybe this is the problem. But I have read that articles without backlinks will die out quickly.

Hmm... I have been reading around this forum for some time before registering, but I haven't heard about LSI before, I just googled it, I don't know maybe my competition is using it...

Optimize your article by picking a less competitive keyword that is receiving a decent amount of traffic on a daily basis. Mention your keyword in the title and two to three places in your article preferably at the top, middle and end.

Ensure your put up a quality article, other people will certainly pick your article and use it on their blog which is a big plus for you when trying to rank high. You will also get a back link from them.

Try to build a few back links to your article and within a short period of time you can rank well on the search engine.

Quite alright its their site but by having your site rank high on the SERP you will also benefit from the traffic it generates. On the other hand if you are worried about build other peoples site, then there is no need writing articles. Well, personally i prefer to build links to my site rather than that of an article directory.

For me, I found the best thing to do with getting Ezines ranked high is:

1. Using keywords every 100 words.
2. Having the keywords in your title.
3. Feeding the articles with various sites such as feedage and feedest
4. and stress again.. KEYWORDS KEYWORDS

Make sure your keyword density in the article body is around 4-5% for the keyword that you are trying to rank for.

4-5% I think is a little high for keyword density. Sites like Ezines only allows around 2%

If you want to get EZA ranked well (and it's not a bad idea when you're just starting out), you need to either go for longtail keywords, build backlinks - or both.

I think the best thing to do is to use EZA to build up your OWN site, since long term that's a better goal.

I think I will actually try to get my blog post ranked rather than the EZA. After submitting it to my blog, then I'll rewrite the article and submit it to article directories and I will link to my blog and that specific blog post. What do you think, would it work ?

Are you (1) selling your own products/services, affiliate products/services and/or looking to moneytize your onsite CPA offers and building your list, or (2) moneytizing your site through CPC/CPM?

For number 1 and 2 combined, I do this:

1) research and analyze niches relevant to products/services I'm offering with high online buyer activity (this means knowing what's hot, what's being searched for, what's selling great, what's being talked about, etc. in markets relevant to my offered products/services)...

niche example 1: outsourcing
niche example 2: jobs

Why niche example 1? Recession. Companies in the West need to cut costs. People in the West are looking at the Internet to augment their income with online businesses and intend to make their online businesses more sustainable substantial sources of income than their jobs which they might lose all of a sudden. This makes niche example 1 a niche with high online buyer activity.

Why niche example 2: Recession. Companies are closing down. People are looking for jobs. This makes niche example 2 a niche with high online viewer click activity.

2) research and analyze microniches relevant to my offered products/services with high online buyer activity...

microniche example 1 (for niche example 1): US and UK-based companies and individuals with online businesses looking for Filipino remote SEO/SEM and content developer/writer/marketer assistants (often referred to as virtual assistants)

Why microniche example 1: Recession. "The 4-Hour Work Week" sales will act as your promotion tool. The Philippines is a preferred destination for outsourced employees because of good English communication skills aside from being hardworking and knowledgeable people.

microniche example 2 (for niche example 2): Filipinos looking for legitimate online jobs offered by US and UK-based companies and individuals with online businesses

Why microniche example 2: Outsourcing has been constantly hitting the Philippines hard since 2006, especially the phone/email customer support industry, and Filipinos are looking for legitimate online jobs to augment or income or become their full time jobs.

3) Research and analyze then generate microniche keyword ideas.

4) Go to WordTracker and place microniche keyword ideas.

5) Take WordTracker results and place in Google Adwords Keyword Tool.

6) Get 10 results with highest global monthly searches, highest CPC rates and most relevant to offered products/services for each set of microniche keywords (set 1 keywords from microniche example 1 and set 2 keywords from microniche example 2).

7) Take each set 1 keyword and Google with and without quotes. Determine the PR of the pages in the top 10 results as well as the PR of the domains where each page result is found = you get 2 lists = one for Googling with quotes and another for Googling without. Also do this for your set 2 keywords.

8) Analyze. I consider set 1 keywords in terms of global monthly search volume and with competing pages below PR3 under domains below PR4. I consider set 2 keywords in terms of global monthly search volume, CPC rates and competing pages below PR2 and domains below PR3.

9) Create site for set 1 keywords and another site under different domain for set 2 keywords. Domains should be keyword and SE optimized. Sites must be XML and W3C compliant. Sites must also have SE optimized meta info (title, description and tags). I take advantage of Google and other SEs' liking to media-rich sites by placing a video panel with a relevant 5-minute video. I also place autoping code when new content or comment is added to the sites. Finally, I incorporate effective visual communication strategies into the layout and design of sites as well as visibility/readability of elements as well as viewer accessibility/navigability/maneuverability of sites.

10) Take set 1 keywords. Use first 5 as main keywords and the next 5 as related keywords. Pair them up. I have 5 set 1A pairs.

11) For set 1 pairs, make related keywords as main keywords and main keywords as related keywords. I have set 1B pairs.

12) Do steps 10 and 11 to have set 2A and set 2B keyword pairs.

13) Write 1 900-1200++-word article for each set 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B pairs. Main keyword should be in leftmost part of title while related keyword = rightmost in title. Main = leftmost in description and related keyword = leftmost in description. Main keyword should be placed between 1st to 10th word of every 120-word block, preferrably as H2s or subheaders, while related keyword = between 20th to 50th word of every 120-word block, preferrably as H2s or subheaders. Writing style = 3-5-7 = a paragraph has around 3-5 sentences while a sentence has around 7 words = Keep It Short and Simple simplified further. Title must be attention-grabbing, description interest-provoking, 2/3 of body should provide readers with useful and relevant info/advice, last 1/3 of article body should be curiousity-provoking for more updated info/advice, and bio box content should be an effective call to action. Inject business tone with character personality wit and humor into the content to make the articles interesting to read while still being useful and sounding like from a repputable source.

14) I upload all set 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B articles to site 1 and site 2. I make sure the same author name is used on each content page. Bio box of each set 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B articles must contain main and related keywords (different from the main and related keywords of the article in focus) used as anchors of content page URLs pointing to my sales and squeeze pages (for site 1) and my other content pages (for site 2 with ads). Content pages where anchors should point to (for site 2 because ite 1 content pages point to my squeeze/sales pages) must provide support info/advice to viewers.

15) I submit each set 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B articles to the top 5 article directories under the same author name I used on my sites.

16) I make sure keywords in bio box point to my site 1 and 2's other content pages providing support info/advice to target readers.

Once published, I then monitor its rankings for relevant searches on Google and other SEs.

Then, I monitor the traffic I'm getting from the articles. If I have high page views close to global monthly search volume of target keywords, then I have the right keywords with the right title and description... but if I have high real page views but low CTRs, then I wrote the wrong article body and bio box content. Otherwise (if I get high CTRs), my published articles in those directories become my softsell content marketing pages.

I then of course monitor sales, signups and ad clicks of the traffic I get from all places (not just from the article directories). If I get high traffic but low conversions, then something's wrong with my content pages and my ssales and squeeze pages. Otherwise, I'll regularly monitor everything while working on another site pair, outsourcing some work if necessary.

Based on my tests, lenghtier EZA articles tend to perform better in Google, especially with the niche/microniche/keyword generation/keyword placement strategies. You can Google target traffic generation = my EZA article's the 2nd result in Google's page 1 2 days after publication and became PR4 from PR0 in 3 weeks with 0 backlinks. Also, Google maximize online traffic = my article's the 1st, 2nd and 3rd result in Google's 1st page a day after publication, but still PR0 for about a month now (I'm monitoring this since article length could be a possible thing to study further because first one I mentioned = 1300++ words while this one only has 600++ words, and another thing I'm studying further is content syndication since first one mentioned = been syndicated 4 times excluding on my site while 2nd one = never syndicated, only on my site).

I first published the same articles on my sites, but it's easier for articles published by directories with high domain authority to rank high on SEs for my target terms than for new content pages on new domains, but since I'll be building more non-article directory backlinks pointing to the content pages of my sites, I get the traffic from those number 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on article results in Google's 1st page (my articles) all while I build backlinks for my content pages to climb up the SEs for my target terms. That way, I moneytize the traffic from those article directories while I continue to improve the content pages of my sites in terms of SE rankings.

Also, by initially publishing my articles on my sites then submitting them to top 5 or so article directories, I improve the value of my domains by adding new content, all while I moneytize the traffic I get from those published article directory pages and also while I improve the rankings of the content pages of my sites.

Well, that's just my opinion though since those are based on results I get, which doesn't necessary mean you'll get the same results, so I highly recommend testing, monitoring, analyzing, testing, monitoring, analyzing and so on and on.

You can target the Most Viewed list for the keyword, and pay for traffic, for as little as .02 or .04 cents you can get 4,000 to 5,000 hits, and you will find you article spirals after into real traffic.

There are many methods, backlinks, converting articles to video too that will drive traffic from Youtube and other video sharing sites to the original article.
