Flippa Experts: How Would A "Paid Surveys" Site Do?

I'm talking about an established site already in the Clickbank marketplace. They're a bit "scammy", but they do still make money. Do you think people would be willing to buy one?

Obviously, there are other factors like traffic, conversion/refund rate, etc. I'm talking in general terms though.

Are you the owner of this 'scammy' site or are you asking if someone would buy a similar site??

As long as you can show proof of your income, unique visitors, backlinks, etc...there will be buyers.

I'm looking at buying one directly from the current owner, but I wouldn't want to maintain it long-term. So I would try to sell it for more than I purchased it for.

One of those scam paid survey sites sold about a year ago for about 25,000 or so. The owner wanted to dump it because Paypal would not let them pay their affiliates any longer (because they are scams) and the whole thing was a nightmare.

The owner had received it as payment for a debt owed instead of money so he wanted to be rid of it as quickly as possible.

I wouldn't want anything to do ... buying or selling with those scam sites personally, but I guess there's always someone around with no ethics to buy one.

It's kind of a similar situation for me, I guess. It's not a debt owed to me, but the owner approached me for the sale. Is that auction that you're referring to still listed anywhere? Do you remember the site name? And what do you mean by "nightmare"? LOL.

Well, when you use Paydotcom to pay all of your affiliates and all of a sudden Paypal will not allow you to pay your affiliates using Paypal, it is a nightmare. In addition, there were many comments on the sales thread about what a scam site he was selling ... and he had to answer all of them and basically, he told them he knew it was a scam site but if someone wanted to take over high refund rates, no paypal to pay affiliates, then he was willing to sell it, as it did make some money.

I can't find the listing now. It was about a year ago.

LOL. Definitely sounds like a nightmare as you described. But you said someone still bought it? That's the truly wild part right there.

Yeah. He ran it for the full month and it sold right at the end of the auction. Many "buyers" tried to talk him down in price due to the Paypal problem, which he was upfront about, to his credit. He stuck to his price and he did get it.

Wow. He must've been one hell of a salesman. LOL.

He's not your ordinary marketer. I know him. That's why I was interested to see how it came out. He's tough as nails and has probably made at least a million in IM. He's not a site flipper but got stuck with this site, since he wasn't going to see the cash that was owed to him.

He plain out told everyone that this business model was not for him, but he knew it made money and he knew that there would be some who could handle it. I think his brutal honesty and his "Give me Sh*t and I'll Give You Sh*t Right Back" attitude worked for this particular auction. lol.
