Wordpress: You Did Not Unlock Your Registration Page

Got a Wordpress problem that has me stumped. Never ran into this before. I have a men's blog, trendspike.com. I logged out of it and then clicked on the register link to test registration as a new user and I get this:

You Did Not Unlock Your Registration Page

I have TDO Miniforms Plugin so that people can submit guest posts, but they can do that without registering, so I don't think it has anything to do with that.

I've got Register Plus plugin, but I just installed that after I got that message numerous times.

Anyone know how to fix it so people can register?

A possible solution,
In WP Admin, go to "General Settings". Scroll to "membership" and make sure that "anyone can register" is checked. "New User Default Role" is "subscriber".

  I never get that far. As soon as you click on Register, it says, You Did Not Unlock Your Registration Page.

That's strange.

I ran a search through all the WP files and couldn't find that message (string).

Now it is time to figure out where does it come from...

I reinstalled Wordpress to fix it. Here's what I think happened and it's just a guess.
I was having a lot of bots register as users ... spam registrations. So I installed
TimesToCome Stop Bot Registration plugin. I never checked after that to see if a real person could register, but I suspect not. I got rid of that plugin and reinstalled Wordpress and now it works.
