Promoting Affiliate Info Products Without My Own Websites?

Hello Warriors,

I was just wondering if promoting affiliate information products without having my own website could work.

Let's just consider non-IM niches here. Would it work? Or, is it absolutely necessary for affiliates to have their own websites with landing pages and mailing lists? I understand having an independent setup like that opens up a lot more possibilities and stuff like that.

But, has anyone had success with affiliate info. products as affiliates without anything at all? Please share your tips, ideas and views.

    Hi There,

I think for us to answer this correctly, you will need to clarify what you mean.

Am I right in saying that you want to promote a clickbank style ebook without setting up a landing page or Niche blog?

What methods are you considering? Free? Paid Advertising?

Let us know buddy and someone will help you.

      Hi,

First off, thanks for asking those questions. They sure help make understanding the situation easier.

Yes, a ClickBank style ebook (but in the non-IM niches).

Free promotion is the idea in mind - article writing, Web 2.0 (Squidoo, HubPages, etc.) and SEO. Any more ways to do it?

A niche blog (would cost domain and hosting). I could try Blogger and Wordpress.com. However, those would be used more as part of a linkwheel rather than my websites for promoting the products.

How long before I could see a sale with something like that?

As far as other ways to do it, there is loads, video is another option assuming you have the resources to shoot the video. You can get a lot of free info in this forum.

You mention using blogger, wordpress.com, etc as a link wheel, what will be the hub? articles?

How long it will take is borderline impossible to answer, that largely depends on the quality of your content, your consistency as well as the amount you put out there.

From my experiences with clickbank, which is not extensive to be honest, you need to have a strong pre-sale to make sure you get the sale.

On top of that you need to drive quite a lot of traffic in comparison to CPA offers, simply because you have to get the person to actually get their credit card out.

If I was you, and you have no money at all, create a pre-sell page using a web 2.0 site and drive some traffic to it with articles, videos, etc.

Personally I am not a fan of building long term content on web 2.0 because I don't own it, so i drive the traffic to my own site from these resources instead to build up the authority of my own domain.

But, if you have no choice, go for it buddy.

        All the best.

I think the short answer is that it is possible to make some money selling affiliate products without your own website. The problem is that if you want to use PPC advertizing and are direct linking to the merchant site, Google will only show one ad at a time for that domain so you are not getting the exposure you need.

If you really want to be a successful affiliate marketer, you need to have your own website and domain name.

    Good luck!

You don't really need a site at all - you could post one or two quality articles to Ezine Articles, and do a lot of backlinking in various ways to drive it to the top of Google. You would need to create landing pages with something like Squidoo or Blogger, as EZA won't allow direct affiliate links to sales pages.

    best wishes,

    Jon.

Seems like a nice idea but has anyone actually done it, linking EZA to landing pages with something like Squidoo or Blogger and made money? Jon?

If you use the right keywords, you can make plenty of money just from posting on free Web 2.0-type sites.

Something I intend to try (as an experiment) is putting free reports with affiliate links up on Scibd etc. I've had the indexed and rank really well in the past ... an no website.

Nothing new but easily done (and might be possible with re-brandable reports that some product creators provide -- need to check TOS).
