Worriors,
i was thinking of starting using twitter to build my list.
my strategy, the one i am thinking of, is to follow people that tweet about keywords related to my niche, and then hopefully they will follow back.

Then i will start to tweet nice links and topics, and also promoting my product, and send them to my squeeze page.

first question: anyone tried this? does it work?

question 2: what software to use?

i found a software called autopilot tweet. anybody knows if it is good?

and question 3: anybody knows a software or a way i can do similar thing on facebook?

thanks guys!

It's that 'hopefully' that has me worried. Why would they follow you?

people usually follow back on twitter.

I am looking for someone that is already using the system and already using one of the twitter marketing softwares out there, and tell me which one works best.

I've got a free, unpublished, under-the-radar method that will get u lots of targeted followers over time.

    Currently I'm operating a network with >110 000 followers.

The method is only using free, online tools and it takes about 30 minutes to set it up.

Easiest way that I've found is to find someone popular in the niche and then follow their followers. For example, I built a Twitter list around my local area for my offline consulting biz. I used the local Chamber and the Business newspaper as my starting point as I know that people that read those sites are in my target market.

Yes, it's a simple process, a bit like "wow, is it that easy". Anyone can use it and it's free. But I doubt there is any general interest.

I do share it, last night I coached (no charge) on of the newbie Warriors here. If there is a lot of interest, I'll just post an outline of the method here.

    Sweps,

If you haven't already seen it you might want to check out Kevin Riley's WSO which I think covers pretty much what you're asking about. Here's the link:

I purposely unfollow people who only post links, or aren't actually using twitter.

The BEST way to use Twitter is to follow people who are in your niche, but are also using Twitter, not just visiting to post links.

@reply to people when they send personal tweets, or tips, etc.

Give you input when people tweet advice. Use it to BUILD relationships. Every once in a while you can post a link to your website but put most of your efforts towards finding the REAL people within your niche on twitter and networking with them by just being yourself.

It's the most in-direct, effective marketing tool, but if you do all that on a consistent and long-term basis, it'll pay off.

Oh, and the software I use: twitter.com

    Sweps,
Following people in your niche is a great idea! I do think you need to go one step further to really leverage your Twitter network. You should try and establish relationships with some of the people that you follow (it will give you a lot more credibility, and those who you follow won't just assume you are a spammer and not follow you or unblock you) Some common ways of establishing a relationship with your Twitter network includes re-tweeting their tweets and personalizing responses to specific tweets those people have. Here at Grasshopper, we use Twitter to get new customers, strengthen relationships with existing customers, promote our product and promote our blog. You seem to have the right idea with who to follow just make sure you don't sell yourself short by not using Twitter effectively! Goodluck!

Twitter is a great marketing tool... but you have to know how to use it and use it well.

Your theory works - in principal but I think you could do it a much better way and get better results.

Firstly, NOT everyone follows you back. Also think logically, if you're selling something online, for example a make money opportunity and target people with those types of key words, you will all be selling to each other, sending each other links, no engagement, no building relationships etc.

Yes it's important to have targeted people in your following but it's also important to engage with others, build relationships etc.

Check out my free Ebook here on how to use Twitter.

Don't forget to track all your links with Bit.ly or Sup.ly so you can monitor which ones work best.

The biggest tip I can give you is to add value, the more value and useful information you offer the more people will re-tweet your tweets and engage with you. Which is what it's all about afterall.

    Best of luck.

Ive been in twitter for a long time and Twitter works very well.

The key is finding the right offer and finding the right target. Many offers dont convert very well and many converts like crazy. And also your software should have the ability to filter out those other marketers which are plenty of them like those who only tweet links, who dont have pictures and tweets always coming from unknown APIs.

There are 2 good ways to approach it. One is slower and the other is faster.

The slower one is building list of followers by following others and hoping to follow you back. They also add something like autoresponder and auto send DM to people who will follow you back and this is the reason why the DM in twitter overly saturated now and very less people reading them nowadays. This is slower but its better for long term business.

The other one is faster using the @mentions and @replies to send your offers directly to people even if they are not your followers.

I made a much more detailed guide here that you might want to check

I do market with Twitter by simply tweeting daily (7 tweets per day; 3 of them we're personal tweets, others are links) and then I follow at least 1,000 people 4x a week then unfollowing them once a week during Mondays. Actually, I keep my followings targeted by having only 1 active Tweeple to follow-to and following his followers consistently. That way, I'm also increasing my mutual followers as well.

I use Hummingbird by the way and it's worth the price.

    Hi guys

i have used twitter for quite a while now and have found it to be very successful though it depends on the effort you put in. If you spend about 4-5 hours getting it all perfect you can then hire an outsourcer to run it for you for around 10 dollars a week and it can bring you a lot of traffic and sales.

Here is my ebook about it (free)

I noticed Twitter messages from other Twitter users do not have a clickable link when I receive them in my email inbox.

It seems like I still get a regular stream of followers even after I have deleted all my Tweets.

I'm looking for a non-spammy way of getting more traffic and sales to my web sites. Any recommendations?

    Hi sweps,

Marketing with Twitter is like marketing to a list. If you constantly show them links, then they will not convert. But if you will take care of your followers, then the marketing will be effective. So my answer to the first question is that it works IF you will build a relationship with your followers.

A good software to use for this job is Tweetattacks. Just look for it. It is created by good Jay Yanuaria here.

    Hope that helps,

    Aira

I use Twitter a lot for promoting websites. I get some traffic from it but not as much as you would expect (from the amount of followers). I think twitter users are so tired of all promotion that it's hard to get any attention.
