Linking Straight To CB Product Order Page

Hey guys,

I heard it's possible to, for instance, link straight to the order page from the CB product I'm promoting on my own website.

How would I go about doing this? Do I need some sort of script so it remembers my affiliate code/name?

Have any of you tried this or know what works better? Linking straight to the order page or to their general website (if it's been proven it converts)..

I'd really like to know more about this.

Hi

Yes you can do that with your affiliate hoplink, but as many people have already mentioned ... ask the merchant first. It usually isnt a problem so you should be good to go.

Also bare in mind like you said, good vendors will have tested their sales pages to get the best conversions.

I normally let them do the selling for me.

Maybe split test by linking direct, and then through the vendors sales page and see what converts better.

Hi,

While it's true that some vendors test conversions of their sales page, most do not. But the real reason why you may want to direct link to the order page for a CB product is because their product is awesome but they have a very poor sales page (one that does not adequately present the benefits of the product in the best possible light). This happens frequently with people who have created a product that are experts in their field but have little marketing and copywriting experience.

There is a way to both set your cookie and direct link to the order page but you should also contact the owner for permission before doing so and you may need to get CB's permission as well. Without obtaining permission this is considered a 'gray hat' strategy that could have negative consequences for your CB account.

If you do a few searches on Google for "direct linking to order form +ClickBank" you should find plenty of information on direct linking.

  The situation is
  
  1. You MUST request permission from the vendor.
  
  2. The link is
  http://ITEM.AFFILIATE_VENDOR.pay.clickbank.net
  
  (there is an underscore between AFFILIATE and VENDOR)
  
  Some disadvantages:
  
  * The normal hoplink takes priority over this link: therefore you will not get commission if your visitor has previously gone through another affiliate's hoplink
  
  * The link does not set a cookie: therefore you will not get commission if your visitor later returns to the site without using that link
