No offense, but the problem with asking is that most people have only used a few hosts, at most, out of the thousands out there. If someone hasn't had any problems, they're inclined to list their host as the best one out there despite having no experience with other hosts.

There are hosts I would have given a positive rating for, until I hit a problem like extended downtime or poor support that I didn't know was coming.

No offense taken at all Chris, but whether someone has used just 1 host, or 10 hosts, they will still have valid opinions based on what their experience was like with that host.

For example, I didn't need to have the experience of having many web hosts to know that my first host (HomePageUniverse) totally sucked with horribly slow and rude customer "service" and my site was down often.

      Thanks.

    1. Yahoo

    2. 4/5

    3. 5/5

    4. 4/5

    5. 4/5

    6. I have had no problems using Yahoo. It may be a little bit more expensive than some of the other hosts but it offers plenty more services.

    1) Host Name: HostGator

    2) Features: 4

    3) Support: 5

    4) Value: 4

    5) Overall Rating: 4.5

    6) Comments: Had a few issues with my Cpanel changing my password for no apparent reason, but their tech support has always gotten it fixed in less than an hour of my alerting them to it.

    1) Host Name: H2OH-Hosting

    2) Features: NA - I have no idea.

    3) Support: 0

    4) Value: 0

    5) Overall Rating: 0

    6) Comments: Registered a domain and signed up for reseller hosting with them. Never got my account info for how to log in, and even though they sent me an email saying they registered the domain, they didn't. I ended up re-registering the same domain with GoDaddy about a week later, and signing up for another hosting package with HostGator. H2Oh Billed me for 2 months of hosting, even though I sent several emails to every single email address listed on their site asking to cancel my account. Finally, after emailing And1 hosting, H2Oh cancelled my account. Of course, I did ask for the account to be cancelled a week before they billed me for the second month. I didn't fight it. It was $15 and I wanted to just be done dealing with them.

For what it's worth, I use Hostgator for all my blogs and sites. You won't find a more helpful bunch of people to do business with. They have everything you need, quick answers, a toll-free number for quick questions, plus, the price is right.

It seems like Hostgator is the most popular. Is anyone else willing to chime in about their good and BAD web host reviews?

          Thanks.

Yahoo offers EVERYTHING, from buying domain up to hosting.. But its a bitch to move domains from them.. Used them in the past and its hard to get fast prompt time.

Then i moved to hostgator for hosting and Namecheap to buy my domains. Best decision i have made so far.. :-)

    6) Comments: Sensational hosting, have a few shared, a couple reseller accounts with them. Never had any problems because of them, all my sites are pretty fast and I love their reseller accounts - top quality relative to price.

Their support is also top notch, usually answers within half an hour... a site of mine was hacked yesterday because of me being an idiot, I didn't have backups for that specific site and it was pretty big... however, they kept backups and got it up within an hour.

      Support 5/5
      Value 5/5

Comments: A small company, run by a fellow member of another forum. Support second to none and instantaneous if they are online. Answered all my totally stupid questions when I was starting out instantly and with full explanations.

We have a dedicated server with HG and it has worked out very well for us.
We use alot of videos, so the size of the space we have, 1500 gigabytes is great.
