INTERNET MARKETING

Looking for a wordpress plugin that lets you play embedded videos off a wordpress blog.

Should have features like faded background when playing the video, customize the appearance.

can someone recommend me a good one?

Wordpress doesn't always play nice with video. Using DHTML
layers is an effective workaround, so you're on the right
track.

I ran across this a few months back:
Video LightBox - Embed video to your website with beautiful Lightbox effect!

It doesn't do anything all that special. You can make lightboxes
with a few different Javascript platforms like MooTools and
Scriptalicious at no cost.

This is just a suggestion for a light box effect with video.You can download the standalone and you can use that. Its pretty simple to use Rokbox.
Every thing is documented in the website.

Here's the one I currently use:
WordPress › Simple Flash Video WordPress Plugins

It does everything you want and offers LOTS of customization features.

It works with Flash and MP4 videos. If you wanted a different video file type, my suggestion is convert your vids to one of the above and try out this plug in.

Once the plugin is installed, you simply embed the videos in your post/page with a simple code snippet, for example:

[video filename=http://your-sub-domain.s3.amazonaws.com/your-filename.mp4 width=400 vid_image=http://your-sub-domain.s3.amazonaws.com/default.jpg shadowbox=on autostart=false /]

I recommend this plugin:

Wordpress Popup Plugin - Ultimate WordPress Popup Design & Popup Marketing Power

It will work with any type of hard to embed content. It provides a light box effect. Its very light weight.

I was so impressed with the technology for popups that company creates that I partnered with the owner to integrate his dhtml technology with a player.

Though that plugin will work with any content including embed code for other video players it is also has built in compatibility with our Transparent Player.

Another thing I like about that plugin is that it allows you to create and manage different popups on various pages and posts without limits.
