Starting a monthly SEO service - need market research

Hi warriors,

Shortly I am looking to start an SEO service website with a view to make making it a monthly subscription. The only thing is I really don't where to start price wise, the price that popped into my head is $77, but please feel free if you would to give your opinion on what you would be willing to pay for the below services each month:

1: An SEO report from IBP or whatever at the start of each month detailing changes that need to be done to on-site SEO to make sure you get the best out of the service e.g. this would include competitor keyword analysis etc.

2: 1000 backlinks with the customers chosen keyword anchor text from web 2.0 properties like hubpages, zimbio, livejournal etc.

3: 1800 backlinks linking to the above websites to give the customers backlinks authority.

4: 1000 social bookmarks (bookmarking the backlinks created in stage number 2 to ensure that google registers the links to the customers site)

5: Everything pinged.

5: Everything submitted to rss feeds.

6: The customer would supply me with one article or so and I would spin that using "the best spinner" with at least 50% unique.

7: do follow profile links x an unknown number...

8: The customer would receive reports as well at the end of the month.

So yeah, if any warrior out there could give their opinion price wise then that would be awesome.

Thanks,

Ben.

If possible check what the value of the SEO is worth for your clients.

If you have a client that is spending $2000 a month in PPC then $77 is going to be way too low.
But for a small mom and pop business this might be fine.

You will do better to price your work for the value it brings rather than just blanket price it out.

Also note that many folks just do not get SEO they are expecting results. So this technique might not be enough for some companies and if you will need to work harder, thus charge more

thanks for your advice, forgot to mention this service would be solely targeting niche markets using my linking strategy, the above usually results in top page positioning for niche markets which I why I would try initially to keep it at one price...

I don't really know how much most companies charge, but for everything you listed there, $77 would be way too cheap.

I think you could charge a lot more and still get business.

thanks for your input, it's a tricky one price wise, obviously don't want it seem too low, but don't want to price myself out of the market at the same time! I would really do it as a hobby I suppose as at the moment I have a lot of free time IM wise as my site promotions don't take all that long. I might release it as a WSO or something at that price in the future.

thanks for the advice paul, I'll definately check that website out, I'm using "website auditor" at the moment for that but I'm always open to new suggestions. Wow $500 an hour! I might quit affiliate marketing lol. I'll probably just release the service to the forum in the Summer thinking about it, about time I gave something back to this place!

      Ben,

Regardless if this is niche or not, you will be trying to sell this service to folks that are not IM'er right?

no, not neccessarily, I would assume many people who are IM'ers would be interested in it also...

I didn't understand you very well, you will provide 3000-4000 quality backlinks for $77?
So you will have 1 maybe 2 clients per months, think about that and how much money you will make.
The lowest price for that is around $500

Yeah, looking at your package I agree with everyone else that your asking price is way too low. Go up.

Also is this a long term service? One time Service?

Because often SEO can be a long term struggle to get, maintain and struggle with. You would do better getting it so that clients kept you around. Then you never have to worry about always having to sell your services because you have a steady income.

well, it would only be 1000 quality backlinks to the customer's site, the other links would provide those backlinks with some authority. I hope I'd have more than 1 or 2 clients at that price! But that is the thing, I don't really need to make heaps of money from this little venture, I already make a steady income affiliate marketing, this would just be to help some other IM'ers out really, so I would be more than happy to do it for sub $100

In my opinion you have to count each backlink you made.

Oh okay, now I get what you are saying.

Yeah, I think the 77 dollars is a good price, and then I would really suggest that you limit how many you take at a time to somewhere around like 10-15 at a time, though to not stretch yourself too thin and for the value of your service to really be expressed.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • That seems like a lot of work for 77 bucks.

looking at it on paper it does seem like a lot, however, in practice, spread over 30 days it wouldn't be that hard a task. I might raise the price somewhat then going on everyone's advice. thanks for all your insights guys.
