Just inherited a blog

I'm on this site writing blogs about products I'm trying to sell, mostly affiliate links. Then I get this email telling me that now I can take over a blog that has not been updated in over two years. They give me this huge selection and one that catches my eye that is a coffee blog. Even after 2 years of no activity it still has 80 readers per day. So I say what the heck and choose it.

Then I realize I don't sell coffee and do not have much taste for it unless I am at work. So my question is what would a seasoned vet here choose to do over such a gain. It even comes with its own domain name so no subdomain mess to deal with. With 80 daily visitors and hundreds of backlinks (yes I checked) can someone give me some advice on a possible next step?

Did you say it was a coffee niche? There are all kinds of different coffee products. Surely you can find one to promote on your blog. Write a post with a targeted keyword and see if the posts ranks in google for the title keyword phrase. If it does, then you are set you can start writing posts pertaining to the topic of the site and earn adsense money or affiliate revenue.

Yes they have post going back to 2006 a two year span. I'm still trying to review all of the posts but basically its about recipes and coffee reviews with chit chat sections. Also there are some politics being talking about. The theme is coffee chat, like a casual thing or whatever. It will take me some time to go thru all of the previous posts however.

If you don't want to deal with it yourself you could auction the blog on Sitepoint or another auction site. If it has that many links and that much traffic you might find an eager buyer. By the way, do you know the PR of the site?

There's a very good coffee affiliate program on CJ. If the blog is getting good traffic then you have a very good chance of being approved for the program.
