I was outside of a store a while back and there were two people outside.

They were selling subscriptions to the local newspaper.

The guy was training the lady on how to sell subscriptions. (He is good - he sold me my subscription.)

He was telling her, "This is what you do...." and then proceeded to give her all of his tips and secrets on how he made sales and makes his living.

It really dawned on me that this is what we do in IM. We take our knowledge and pass it on to others, but instead of doing this one person at a time, we can touch hundreds and thousands of lives in a short period of time.

It is an awesome concept.

So figure out what you know that others would like to know....then create a report, ebbok, etc., and then start selling!

(What are you waiting for? Get started!)

So do most IM'ers only market IM'ing products? Or "hot topics" like weight loss?

Am I the only nutty one taking techniques and trying to apply them to something outside the world of IM'ing? LOL. I KNEW I was crazy. /sigh

Tell me someone else is just like me, pretty plz.

It would be stupid to focus only on the IM market if your a beginner
its better to start in another niche, make money, gain knowledge then
teach other IM'ers to make money online.

Its good you are marketing to another niche I started in health
(low competition back then) then moved into selling IM stuff.

Don't worry Danielle, you're not alone.

We don't do and never have done, any IM products - but we might in the future!

You don't have to do just IM niche, you can do a cookbook if you are interested in cooking, a dog training ebook/video if you are a dog trainer, the possibilities are unlimited. But you still have to learn Internet Marketing in order to market your product on the Internet.

You're not crazy! We're applying IM to other products and other niches than IM. IM is a very crowded niche market, and although it's growing, you've got to consider that all the competition makes it harder. It's main advantage is that they buyers are all on-line, for sure. Whereas not all dieters live on-line (for instance) - but plenty check their emails daily!

Danielle... baby... you are FAR from alone...

the IM niche is TINY and pales in comparison to the plethora of others out there...

Keep doin what you doin.. it's great and the IM niche will be waiting for your wisdom when you cut it in your own niche(s)...

It is the right path to take.. believe me

      Peace

Wait. How old are you Jay?

And thanks for that. It'll keep me company when I'm the only person working online at 4am. LOL.

I bet it wasn't his first day selling subscriptions...

D, Good luck in the Jewelry Biz!

I have been marketing online in many different forms and niches for about 6 years now and I am just currently getting heavy into the IM niche.

I never felt really comfortable with it until about 2 years ago when I finally found myself continuously explaining what I know to both newbies and intermediate marketers. Of course I am much more proficient in certain aspects of it then others so my products reflect my expertise.

The funny thing though with telling people not to go into the IM niche because they might be new and don't know much about it is, they end up going into a non IM niche they know little to nothing about!

I know so many people in the health and fitness niche(not picking on you crystalq ) ) that have never seen the inside of a gym or even have a clue as to what goes into a multivitamin! Yet, they have no problem jumping into that niche and promoting products for it, writing reports etc...

I'm not really condemning either method, this is more of an observation than anything else, I just find it interesting...

A lot of people just feel that they don't know enough about any subject to be teaching other people, especially if those people are paying for it.

I guess that is why affiliate marketing is so popular... but, to be good at that, you really need to know quite a bit about IM, go figure...

Turns out this really is work after all!
