what do you guys do for medical insurance?

medical insurance is just getting rediculous. My insurance has just increased premium by 100 dollars.

I am wondering what is it that you guys do (who are independent of course)?

    Fortunately for me, my wife is a school nurse and she wants to keep working as long as our daughter is going to school.

    Are you in the US, if so, the new healthcare insurance gimmicks should be coming into fruition pretty soon. Maybe that will help us all out with health insurance??? My daughter is smart - she ain't gonna be in school forever!

    I am actually on Social Security right now, and as my income increases I am sure Social Security will want to cut my income back, so in the future I plan on having to buy insurance.

    You are not alone, i have insurance for my 2y old son and me and our insurance has just increased by $85.
    I wonder if we can thank Obama for this?

      I thought the whole healthcare bill/law was supposed to DECREASE insurance premiums!!!

    This is seriously one of the biggest advantages to keeping a day job in addition to IM activities. I know there are a few places - Trader Joes and Whole Foods in the US come to mind - that offer health benefits to part-time employees. Maybe that's something to check out if you're struggling?

    The UK has NHS which is "sort of" free, but taxes just keep on going up, and up, and up.

    Suggestion: Next time, don't vote for the guy who promises "CHANGE" and Health Care Reform

      Yip, people who think all this "change" is going to result in better standard of living for the avg American are in for a rude awakening.
      At the end of the day someone has to pay for it, nothing worthwhile these days comes free/cheap.
