Can anyone suggest a good search tool for FORUMS in specific niches

Is there any good tool or site that I can use to search for forums that are on specific niche topics? I mean sort of like what Technorati does for Blogs.

Best thing to do is using Google

Just use TOPIC FORUM | TOPIC VBULLETIN | TOPIC phpBB

Any questions just let me know

You can also try a google search for "forum: keyword" without the quotemarks.

Came across this in an SEO webinar the other day...

Forum Directory - The Forum Finder

Basically a directory of forums. Check it out.

I have to second (or third) the recommendation to stick with Google. There are other directories/indexes out there, but they just aren't as current.

Another method that isn't as automated is to use Google to find the first couple of forums, and register on those and post questions asking where specific information is related to the niche. The forum members collectively will have a much better pulse on the niche and current information than even Google.

      Best of luck.

I like Google... put the nich + forum. For example: train collectors + forum

This is my search technique and yes it really works.

Don't stick to tools that would do the search for you. By trusting Google's network, you could get heaps of relevant and niche-targeted forums!

Here's yet another way to use Google . . .

Do a Google search using the niche topic you are trying to find the forums for. When the results come up you should see something like: "Web +Show Options" above the page listings on the left side of the blue shaded bar that gives you the number of pages found. Click on the Show Options and you'll expand the left sidebar. The last item under All Results is Discussions. Give Discussions a click and see if it gives you a little of what you're looking for.

      Peace
