Default building on your niche and finding your in

i really struggled with focus when I first began
I knew I had a natural niche but i still haven't really capitalized in it. my business coach told me I needed to stick with parenting and education because so much of my offline expereince in in that zone

about a month ago I cheekily asked someone I met at a function if I could supply contnet for thier website..

this : LIFESTYLE | TV ONE | tvnz.co.nz
is the result

see where it says parenting expert? heck- that's me!

scary thing is that I'm not montetizing this yet. I will,,,,it's just that damn focus coming into play. but for now...WHAT A BUZZ!

Ok guys- here's where you slamme for the wasted oportunity right?

Congrats Rachel. Maybe not money with this yet, but you are surely building recognition. Thats valuable too. Stick with it and you'll go far in that niche.....

>Edit< Wow, that was FAST! Upon further investigation, I see that you have gone far in that niche

Hi Rachel,

Nice work! There's not so much wrong with building a brand/buzz without monetizing it (yet.)

There's a lot more wrong with not building a brand/buzz because you haven't worked out how to monetize it (yet).

I'm no parenting expert, I'm just a great Dad with an even greater son. But if I could offer a tip, the one thing I expect to see in an article like that is 'how to motivate children to want to learn about money'. In other words, how to present them with a game, in order to achieve your aims.

Kiyosaki used this with his cashflow board game (but designed it to work on adults too).

If someone is stuck, they just start with rewards (sweets?). So instead of 'let's learn about money' it's 'let's play a game and the winner gets the prize and is King/Queen of the house for the day'.

Don't make rules, make a reward scheme (IE rules disguised as a reward scheme.) You get the added bonus that {endeavour=rewards later} becomes implanted, which is one of the basic money rules and one where society conditioning actually promotes the opposite (thanks to those who profit from borrowing, remember them?)

Mine's a box of Fruit Gums please.
