Twitter poster from Wordpress - I need a better one! Help?

Ok, I use Twitter Tools to feed my blog posts to Twitter as updates with a link to the blog post. Problem is, the link it creates is the long, actual URL and I need to use a shortener.

But I don't want to manually shorten URLs by hand, I need a tool like Twitter Tools but one that automates the link shortening.

Is this possible? Know of any particular solutions?

    You can use the tweetmeme plugin. You can even chose the shortener you want.

    Twitter Tools can do that:

    Does Twitter Tools use a URL shortening service by default?

    No, Twitter Tools sends your long URL to Twitter and Twitter chooses to shorten it or not.

    As of version 2.0 a plugin to do this with the Bit.ly service is included as an option.
    It is a plugin within a plugin. Or just let Twitter shorten it automatically.
