Alexa Rank How to Convert That?

What does 10k Alexa rank mean? How much traffic is that?

Also is it better if we send backlinks to our site directly or through another site that link to us?

I mean I see cialis seller usually do the latter.

Thanks,

Teguh

It means its the 10,000 most visited site on the internet according to alexa. You can't exactly gauge traffic or conversion based on this number. The only actually value you can get from having an high alexa rating is when it comes to selling your site.

Alexa ranking is very easily manipulated and therefore meaningless IMO.

Visit your site daily and within 2-3 days you will see your site climb upwards. So yes alexa ranking can be very easily manipulated and meaningless.

Depends on where you're getting the links from. Sometimes it's better (or at least safer) to launder them through buffer sites/pages.

    As quoted by DoshDosh:

How do I get started with Alexa?
There are two easy ways to start using Alexa. If you are using Internet Explorer, visit this page and download the Alexa Toolbar. If you're using Firefox, download the SearchStatus extension which displays the Alexa Rank, Google PageRank as well as other useful features.
I highly recommend that you use Firefox and SearchStatus instead of Alexa toolbar, which I find to be more bulky and less useful.
You could even write about Alexa itself and create an Alexa category along your posts.

Here are also additional tips that DoshDosh gave:

Use Alexa redirects on your website URL. Try this: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.doshdosh.com . Replace doshdosh.com with the URL for your website. Leave this redirected URL in blog comments as well as forum signatures. This redirect will count a unique IP address once a day so clicking it multiple times won't help. There is no official proof that redirects positively benefit your Alexa Rank, so use with caution.
Try Alexa auto-surfs. Do they work? Maybe for brand new sites. I think they are mostly suitable for new websites with a very poor Alexa rank. Note that there be problems when you try to use auto surfs alongside contextual ads like Adsense. They aren't also long term solutions to improving your Alexa Rank so I suggest using with caution.
But overall, I don't care about the rankings. I do care about how will I be able to share more value online and that could easily take effect on traffic that leads to conversions.

You check this site which estimates traffic for a site based on Alexa ranking:

Statbrain.com - Tells you how many visitors any site really has

Please note that these are only estimates, guesses.

Depending on how you build links, you should consider doing both. But you get more "link juice" when links go to your own sites.

You probably mean, spammers prefer to spam other people's websites than their own

An alexa rank of 10k usually means the site gets a lot of traffic. I'm assuming you want to test our their traffic if it converts with your site, right? If you have tested the main keywords with PPC and the site is of a similar nature ot that keyword ... give a media buy a shot or buy a few textlinks for starters ... then you can make sound judgement based on the data you have gathered.

Any questions just let me know

I tend to ignore Alexa rank, except for comparing trends with other sites in my niche. It's impossible to tell the amount of traffic a site gets by Alexa rank. Different niches can also achieve a different Alexa rank. For example, in the IM niche, you will see a lot of low Alexa sites, whereas you may have a site in the fashion niche that gets 20x as much traffic but isn't anywhere near on Alexa.

The best third party site for judging traffic is compete.com in my opinion.
