Best way to leave earning site on auto pilot?

Ok so I have a site that has been pulling in sales consistently (not a lot but it's consistent). It is a review site for a pretty new product that has been out for only a couple months and is gaining gravity.

I'm in google for a couple really good keywords but really have no backlinks.

Two questions:

1. With a product that is gaining gravity, will my site eventually fall off google even though I am well structured for the important kw's because marketers will be aggressive because the product is gaining gravity?

2. I haven't done any work on it for 2 weeks. I don't want to really work on it but just let it run on autopilot. Is it pretty important to purchase some kind of link building site type plan? some kind of one way link building system?

tx

hmm good question I wondered the same thing about some of my sites. I am similar to you I have a site with zero backlinks that ranks 1 on google yahoo and bing in a very competitive niche. I honestly think if you have the right domain name that you don't have to do anything else.

Right domain to me is the exact keyword you are targeting. Now of course if you want to rank for more than that keyword then more than likely you will have to build some backlinks.

As the product gains popularity more people will set up google snipper pages for your target keyword. You do have an advantage because your site is already up and running and showing in google, but their goal will be to knock you off the google search listings. I suggest building some backlinks to increase the relevance of your site in googles eyes. Google likes sites that people are linking to, it tells them your site is important and endorsed by other people.

Basically it won't hurt to build some backlinks and can be done by you or outsourced.

    1. It all depends if competition for those keywords in that market increase. If you dont work on your site and competition increases, your site will drop in the rankings.

    2. At this stage, no. It makes you money so I recommend to rape and pillage until popularity decreases. Then you can decide to re-invest that money into buying links or just leave it the way it is and repeat that process with another review site on another offer.

Any questions, drop me a line!

  • contrary to what is said above. If you can definitely see the competition rising to a point where a lot more competitors will be flooding in then I have no doubt in mind that they will knock you off. Because by the time you realize they'll be better optimized and gaining more links.

Use your instincts, does it serve you well to solidify your position now? how much profit would you make? pocket change? substantial amounts.

    Judge it.

Are you already #1 for your keyword(s)? If not you should at least get more back links to get you there because there can be a huge difference in traffic and, therefore, sales.

If you are already #1 and competition is growing than, as stated by those before me, you will probably get knocked off your spot if you don't build backlinks.

That being said, I have plenty of less competitive keywords where I have attained #1 and am still there years later with no more link building due to lack of competition. It sounds from your post though that that more people will be entering the market to sell this new product so you probably won't be on top for long unless you take action.

Ok so what would be a sufficient backlink strategy?

Just using something like MyArticleNetwork, SEOlinkvine and stuff like that. I would need just one of those?

Or should I combine it with something like Angelas Backlinks,

or is Angelas Backlinks sufficient enough?
