Need help increasing Clickbank sales

I will post some stats to get some input, maybe someone can help and give advice.

I am promoting a clickbank niche product, and the sales and traffic are all organic from the search engines.

I am on page #1 in Google (position #2 just yesterday!) but otherwise was on positions 5ish or 6ish on page #1 in Google - for the main keyword.

The keyword, according to Market Samurai has

2000 broad /1350 phrase / 600 exact searches DAILY.

On my site, for the past month, i got 3600 visitors with an avg. of 121 visitors per day.

In this past month i got 487 + 444 + 57 HOPS on clickbank. (3 different products, but same niche). Total 988 hops.

(This seems actually good, about 27% - 28% of all site visitors clicking and checking out the offers)

Those 988 hops resulted in 10 gross (+1 refund) sales IN THE LAST MONTH.

This is just not enough!!!!

The hops/order stats are not that bad, they are rather average

with 124 / 91 / 59 hops per order for the three offers. (This is a soft-selling page, i am not in their face)

Could be better, could be worse.

To increase sales i now added text ads to my site since text ads are likely to have a better CTR than banners.

I am at a loss right now since all the stats look actually "ok", but 10 sales PER MONTH are simply not cutting it.

Am i right if i assume that i simply reached the "end" of what i can make in this particular niche - due to that relatively low search volume?

Based on the search numbers in market samurai i think that the number of visitors is ok, i am still working on ranking this site higher and just got a significant Google boost due to more links.....but its just that those 10 sales per month are really a joke, i should make that much with this site every day.

Should i simply focus on other niches with more search volume?

You can also very nicely see the "problem" with lower search volume micro niches, look at search numbers, then how many actually visit your site, how many actually click an ad and how many eventually buy. I really hope that i can get significantly more visitors due to the recent jump up in rankings + better CTR with text ads.

Hey George let me just say this I have a video on youtube for a clickbank product that has made me $500+ so far this year all free traffic. So you have definitely not reached the end. Try video, checkout Tubemogul or Traffic Geyser.I know I am. I figure if I put this same video on another 50 sites I should be able to make at least 2 sales a day easily. You should be able do similar it sounds like a good product.

Sales per visitor looks about right to me.

I have recently done some serious number crunching on my stats for the past 3 years and I find that the earnings per visitor and the earnings per click through have reduced by about 25-40% in the past 2 years. This is evident for all the products I have meaningfull stats for. It looks like you have to work harder and harder these days.

You should be retaining your visitors using an opt-in form and then load up an autoresponder series that provides value, and funnels them into your product.

It's pretty much common knowledge that repeat visitors are way more valuable than first time visitors, and it looks like you're strictly utilizing that traffic... which is nothing more than just hit and run traffic. If you're making any sales at all, then retaining your visitors and directing them BACK to your site through follow-up emails will increase your sales by A LOT.

So I recommend creating a short, free report that's related to the product you're promoting and give it away in exchange for your visitor's name and email address. It doesn't have to be long, just make sure it's useful.

And while your follow-up series can promote the product you're promoting, you have their contact information until they decide to unsubscribe. So if you make a habit of providing them valuable information on a regular basis, and then send the occasional promotion, I guarantee you will increase your Clickbank sales... which is exactly what you were asking for when starting this thread.

But don't take my word for it. Try it out for yourself; you'll be happy you did!

Firstly GeorgR, congratulations on your success so far!

You should be really proud. Most people don't even make it to sale #1.

        Jon's got good advice here.

You've tapped into a stream of traffic - getting the opt-ins and bringing the people back over and over will let you leverage that traffic over and over again.

But it's not really a clickback / affiliate strategy. It's more of a business building strategy. So it might require a shift in business models.

    Georg,
I don't see the word autoreposponder anywhere. Getting opt-ins, I'm sure you know, would be an easy way to increase the number of sales substantially.

If the keyword is not hard to rank for, you can try to get another top 10 ranking for it. This way you increase the traffic a lot, and you have the other part of the equation done.

So, these are my two questions/suggestions for now...

Well, the easiest way of getting more sales is to INCREASE whatever it is you are currently doing. You need more, more and MORE of whatever it is that got you those sales.

It's the simplest and easiest way. Just throw more of the same at it! PPC, Youtube videos, backlinks ... it will save you a lot of headaches. Your campaign is definitely scalable so you havent even scratched the surface yet!

Any questions just let me know
