How to find a great .com domain name
I've been looking for a name for a new product (non-IM), and initially struggled to find a decent .com name.
But suddenly, by implementing a simple technique, I had a list of 100+ perfectly good domain names.
Here's what I did:
Let's say the site is about 'x'
I picked up a DICTIONARY and started looking through it for inspiration, right from the beginning...
Things started jumping out at me, and then I'd check the domain name availability on Godaddy
My list included things like:
xburst.com
xrelease.com
xrevelations.com
thexcode.com
xconditioning.com
thexboss.com
xthetics.com
xbrilliance.com
and many more.
I've concluded that yes, loads and loads of domain names have been taken, but there are still huge branding opportunities out there on the Internet.
The dictionary is a great tool. Back in 2004 I created a $97 product by going through the dictionary and putting all the buyer keywords into Wordtracker and selling the results of the research.
Best wishes
