Using EzineArticles for niche sites, Including Flipping. Is this a good or bad "model?"

Hi All,

If you look through the Ezine Article database you can find some very informative and well written articles.

I know the limitations of the use of EzineArticle content, that is no more than 25 articles per URL and no more than 250 articles per year for all of your URLs total. And not being allowed to "sell" the articles is also a rule.

Keeping all of the points above in mind can you name any pros or cons in using EzineArticle content on a info site. Of course one should have other original content, however as an addition to that how about having several (up to 25) monetized pages lifted directly from Ezinearticles? Following all of their publishing rules and TOS of course.

Now to the matter of flipping such a monetized site.

You can't sell ezine articles. I understand this also. However, there are many things you can't sell but you can compile.

You can't "sell" istock photos but you can package your ebook along with a salespage and sell that for MRR users to use in their campaigns.

You can't sell "freeware," but you can sell a CD with freeware on it, charging for your efforts and material such as the CD and equipment use.

Am I on the wrong track here?

What about Flipping a monetized site. You are selling the URL and charging for the work you put in to building the site.

Just early morning nagging questions.

Thanks for your insight.

Some people do this regularly, and make some decent money with the volume of sites that they flip. I can't say whether it violates any TOS, though.

George, first of all, I don't know where you got these stats from. I have
way more than the number of articles you have listed with the same URL.

If this is an EZA rule, I am sure it's news to me and a lot of other
    marketers.

As for writing articles and then selling the site that the articles point to,
this has already been brought up and is against EZA's TOS. All articles
on your account must point to a domain that YOU own.

If you're caught, you'll ultimately lose your account.

    George,

If concern over the 25/250 rule is an issue, you could always contact the author directly and ask permission to post their article with resource box intact on your website. Who wouldn't say yes?

Steve, I think you have it backwards. What he is saying is that he is putting EZA's content on HIS site, not his articles on EZA's site as an author. So, he would be selling the site that has EZA's articles on it. Yes, as a publisher, not an author, those limitations do apply with regards to EZA's content. Now I don't think selling the site is a problem as long as all the links remain intact. You should contact EZA about it.

Thanks Tom, I guess I was totally confused. I mean we have authors with
tens of thousands of articles. They can't possibly have enough links to
      conform to those restrictions.

Now that I understand the question, to the best of my knowledge, EZA
doesn't care who owns the site with their articles on it. If the articles
are published in the EZA directory for the purpose of people putting them
up on their sites, what does it matter if the site belongs to John Doe or
Sally Smith. All it says in their TOS is that any article that you use MUST
have the resource box intact, not that everybody does that anyway. But
I won't get into that mess.

I honestly don't see why this would be a problem. But, if you're concerned
there is an easy solution to the problem...write to EZA and ask. They are
ultimately the only ones who can answer your question definitively.
