A few years ago I used to make a decent amount using squidoo for product reviews and send articles to them. Does anyone still profit from this method?

Lot of people still use Squidoo, and are making money from it.

Yep, lots still using and making money.

You just have to have a regular product or something that does not appear to be JUST affiliate marketing related.

Not quite correct; certain words trigger their spam filter and I don't think quantity overrules that filter.

You can appeal the filter, but that can take up to 30 days. I have one appeal pending and it's been about a week with no word back.

I LOVE the marketing genius behind Seth Godin....and, Squidoo was my very first place I wrote for.....

Even with some top ranked lenses (well, lensrank DOES fluctuate quite a bit, and isn't exactly an indicator of one's success there....), I did find it a bit tricky to earn there...doesn't mean it's impossible if you do it right....

One tidbit, though, the highest earner, on Squidoo, in October (or September? can't remember...) 2009, according to their official blog, earned roughly $1,300 from the revenue share aspect of the site (not sure what affiliations would have increased that to)

....I've tested the waters elsewhere, and have approached that with strictly the revenue share aspects of other sites.....of course, there are a million variables involved in whether one earns anything or not....

Those who do it right can earn on Squidoo....I do use it to backlink to articles elsewhere....

With a few backlinks, it's easy to get on the first page.
    You are right about that.

HubPages has been good to me and I even get adsense from them too.

  • I do use Squidoo, but I mainly use it to send traffic back to my blog. I post mini articles at my Squidoo inviting people to read the full details in my blog. I am not sure if people use this method but it has worked to help get me decent traffic.

See, I never really got on the Squidoo bandwagon - not very user friendly IMO. Maybe I should revisit it - seems a lot of you are making decent money there.
