No, they are just enforcing the rules that they have been lax on.

I read a thread where it was stated recently.

what do you mean "no"?

Paul Myers said in the post exactly why Pete was banned...

For bumping a thread that violated rule #7 after Paul contacted him.

The way I read his post, or maybe it was a different one from Paul, is that this rule #7 has not been enforced very vigorously, and Peter was told, and he violated it again, so was temporarily banned (suspended).

Peter will be back I am sure. He has been around here for years and is a respected Warrior as far as I know. He was one of the first ones that helped me, when I first joined. He is a good guy that made a mistake. In my opinion anyway.

I didn't see the link in your thread. I just read it as a question. Forgive me, I am blind in one eye, and can't see out of the other one. But as there is no underline in the link, I should be forgiven I think.

Bumping a WSO that breaks rule #7.

It's only temporary .... unless he does it again

Actually, I think he was banned because he bumped a thread which he was specifically PM'd about that broke rule #7. If he hadn't received the PM he wouldn't have been banned as far as I know.

I think Tim thought you (Mark) were asking a question in your post, and perhaps he didn't realize you were actually linking to a thread?

Never heard of him. But the rules are in place for a reason and anyone who violates them only has themselves to blame. So no sympathy coming from this direction.

    lol

If I were Allen, I would just give you your $37 back now

The difference is, I know right from the door that I'm not entitled to a damn thing here. Not as a free member, and damn sure not for $37. If you get banned, your banned, and I'm quite sure that Allen doesn't care about:

      1. Your $37
      2. Your feelings being hurt

Just because you are a war room member doesn't give you the right to violate rules that apply evenly to every member of the forum...I don't know what gave you the idea that YOU were allowed to mention your ebooks in a promotional way in the main discussion area, but everyone else had to pay $20 to advertise theirs?

There's an amusing quote from one of the head honchos over
at Blizzard the company behind the multi billion dollar Warcraft game.

A gamer was moaning that he paid his $7 per month and yet had
been locked out of the game for 7 days for nefarious activities in game.

Said he was going to take them to court over his $7.

Warcraft boss, said quite simply, that $7 doesn't let you dictate
company policy or make you a shareholder , refunded his $7, closed
his account and politely referred him to the Warcraft TOS.

I don't know your specific circumstances, while I don't see eye to
eye with some of the decisions around here, you have to suck it up.

Bottom line, they don't need you or I, your $37 or any other individual
and with the volume of daily crap needed to maintain a forum with
this much activity, you're not going to get much sympathy
if you start throwing legal threats around over a few days ban.

    Just sayin.....

Peter Drew was banned because he broke the rules and when you break the rules you
    get punished.
