Is it possible to rank in Google without ANY articles or youtube or blogs?

This is just a curiosity of mine, and no I am not asking it out of pure laziness.

The reason I am asking is because due to numerous circumstances, I can't get permission to market for a client's web page using anything that can be commented on. This includes hubpages, youtube, ezinearticles, etc etc. Basically, the major players in the SEO business.

Should I ever bother trying to get this page high in Google without those resources? And if it is possible, is it just going to take an outrageous amount of work? I am up for the task, but I just wanted some expert opinions on the subject.

Thanks in advance to all who respond!

    Hi Matt

Depends on the level of competition for the phrases he wants to rank for.
Does ezine have a comment system ?

I don't know about hubpages or ezinearticles but you can
    disable comments on You Tube.

Thanks for all the replies. I had the exact same thing to say about ezine and as he kindly pointed out to me, you can indeed comment on them.

I asked if having comments disabled would work and he said no, doesn't change anything. He's really quite sympathetic to my logic but he says he can't budge on that and is asking me my opinion.

I don't really want to tell him it's hopeless because where there is a will there is a way, but what should I do in this instance? Let it be, or start making billions of profile backlinks?

  • It might be a little difficult but not impossible. I do have to say that you can submit the article to other directories. Now, I am not sure if there are comment boxes on other directories but you can check. And, I have to agree that in Youtube you can disable the comment option.

I am just puzzled as to why your client would refuse Article marketing, one of the most important aspects of Off-Page SEO.

I wonder too, but he made it very clear the stance is firm. I did try to convince otherwise, but to no avail. Most of the keywords he wants are local, so that's why I think this could still be done with profile backlinks and social bookmarking. Haha, are those the only two methods left?
