How many plugins do you need on a site

I am building a new blog and i want to know how many plugins you need on a site. Also the best plugins for a new site.

    Actually, you do NOT NEED any. WP works well without any plugin.

    It is wise to have at least some anti-spam plugin (WP comes with Akismet built-in.)

      Privacy Policy
      Google Analytics
      Google Site Map Generator
      Contact Form
      Feedburner plugin

      Plus plugins specific to the individual site, depending on what I am trying to do.
