How to implement OTO with CB, without 1-click upsell?

Hi guys,

I am new to clickbank as a merchant and maybe some of
you with CB experience could answer this question of mine.

How do I technically implement OTO with CB without 1CU ?

Let's say I want to offer an OTO after the customer has paid
for the front end product.

Customer buys the front end product and then he/she must be sent
to the download page (according to CB rules, that is the
thankyou page link that I must provide in my CB account during
product approval period).

Front end product---->CB purchase -----> thankyou page

Now instead of automatically sending the customer to the
thankyoupage after the purchase, what do I do?

Do I have to replace the original thankyoupage with the sales
page for the OTO with 'yes/no' links and have two different
thankyou pages. If you do it that way, is that actually allowed
by CB?

Front end product---->CB purchase 1-----> OTO

OTO (YES) ----> CB purchase 2 --> thankyou page with both products
OTO (NO) ----> thankyou page with only front end product

When the front end product is approved by CB there is a thankyou page
URL in my CB account for that product that they checked and approved
because it really was a process and a thankyou page that comply to their
rules.

Now if I have to replace the approved thankyou page with the OTO page
and change the whole process after the payment, is that allowed?

Or are you doing it differently?

You need to add the second product as another item in your
ClickBank account. It does not need approval.

Then just add to the first thank you page (after the
instructions for downloading the first product) a link to the sales
    page of the second product.

      Thanks Harvey,

I know that the OTO must be a product #2 in my CB account.

It would be very easy to do it the way you suggested, but I guess
that people actually use an interstitial OTO page directly
      after purchase.

Front end product---->CB purchase 1-----> OTO

OTO (YES) ----> CB purchase 2 --> thankyou page with both products
OTO (NO) ----> thankyou page with only front end product

I just don't know if that is in complience with CB rules, and if I
do it, can I have problems.

ClickBank require that the thank you page leads
        directly to the purchased product.

If it's OK for CB, why not send buyer of product 1 to a page that both lets them download their product, and at the same time is a OTO for product 2.

They can then download product 1, and continue to buy product 2 if they want.

You could also place an opt-in form on the download page for product 1 and tell them that if they sign up here they get ____ benefit, and then send them something of value together with a "special price" for product 2.

If you do this right, you could get the customer on a mailing list for product 1 updates and such + sell product 2 at the same time.
