i got a list of 20 lawyers who doesnt have a website..

hi,

i collected 20 recent lawyer ads who had advertised in online classifieds with just a phone number but no website.

do u think that if I call them up one by one and suggest them a site, say, for $399 or something, will I have a chance of conversion?

btw, I am not from US, so looking for opinions from a US guy, or better yet, from someone who have done this before regardless of their country.

I appreciate any reply/s

thank you guys..

    Fahad,

Are these lawyers in the US, Sri Lanka or elsewhere?

    Hi,

They may already have websites. People who advertise in classisfieds often pay by the word so its cheaper to advertise just a phone number.

That said if you want to sell them web design services make sure you have a good site all ready to go with a few screenshots/links to sites you have already built.
Their first question will probably be "Do you have any I can see?"

    Good luck with your venture.

    Cheers

I think he wants to give them all a call, and offer a web package to them.

Sure, but just to warn you: keywords with LOCATION LAWYER etc are extremely competitive, at least in the west.

But contact them and see if you can build a website for them, then upsell some SEO/PPC services on top. Lawyers usually have deep pockets.

Any questions just let me know

    Hi there,

One thing you need to understand about the practice of law in the U.S. In each jurisdiction which you are admitted (and in good standing), you are required to abide by that jurisdiction's (State or Territory) rules of professional conduct (usually largely based on the Model Rules of Professional Conduct) (MRPC).

The MRPC contain pretty strict rules on advertising. See rules 7.1 through 7.6. Violation of these rules could potentially result in sanctions or worse against the offending attorney(s).

Basically, putting up a website for a lawyer is not as straightforward as putting up a website for the local grocer.

@Chris_Grable: all leads are from US

@senderbot: collected through online classifieds where fees are not charged based on length, so can assume for some extent that they have no websites.

@Tom_Goodwin: never thought of it, and seems like a very serious thing to consider..

@Alexa_Smith: I have a site portfolio and my own consulting site professionally setup..

Thanks everyone, this is a nice place and everyone seems to help each other..

    Thanks again all..

I'm finding that generic web design is getting old fast. Try pitching new ideas to these clients like building a website that not only looks good on most desktops but also on mobile devices! I don't know much about Sri Lanka, but in North America mobile phones/devices with full data access are gaining ground really fast. Couple that with increasing adoption of online social sites and people's immediate need for information and you've got a good reason to make your customer's sites work on mobile devices. (Which is also a unique offering to differentiate yourself!)

    Fahad,

I am in the US, and I personally have lots of friends who are lawyers; and I can tell you the reason some lawyers do not have web sites is cause they have all of their business from referrals; if a lawyer has been in business for a long time and has established his name, he gets lots of referrals; often more referrals than they can handle; thus not every lawyer wants to have a web site.

If you do contact them, make sure you use capitalization and proper punctuation, unlike what you did in this post.

Not to bust your balls too much but with grammar like that they are likely to ignore you.

    I have a list of 20 lawyers who don't have a website

I'm not going to claim my grammar is the best and I also understand that English may not be your native language. If somebody contacted me with a letter as poorly written as your post title I would throw it into the spam box right next to the Nigerian scams and viagra junk mail.
