I need $3-5K per month

That's basically what it comes down to at this point to supplement my web hosting business income. I've dabbled in affiliate marketing, CPA, PPV, BANS sites, Wordpress sites, done some SEO work etc. I've been pretty successful with marketing a musical project through social media and feel like I have a pretty good handle on the Twitter and Facebook world.
I can't really afford to do PPC or even PPV anymore, so any marketing etc. moving forward will need to be free, i.e. organic seo, social media etc.
Any tips on what would be the best direction to move in to get $3-5K per month somewhat reliably? My web hosting business has stagnated, but at least it's very automated at this point so that frees me up to put in a lot of time during the day to pursue this additional income. All help appreciated.

    Why would you not invest your time into ramping up your existing business?

    That's a good question. I guess the answer is that I've been in the hosting business since 1996 and I've run out of ideas. The market is incredibly saturated and I have no money for advertising.

      When you have one business that is not doing what you want it to, the solution is not always setting up a new one.

      I'd focus finding some new ideas. And sounds like you need help in marketing in general. There are a lot of ways to advertise for free (IE press release) where you could have a special or do something new.

      Do you want to take your hosting company to the next level? If not, here is what is going to happen all over again. You will start some new business, hit a plateau, and decide it is oversaturated, etc.

      And while you are focusing your efforts to your new project, the old business may suffer.

      Do you have affiliates for that hosting program?

    So does everybody else. Do you expect there to be some formula that you can just follow and that someone is going to present it to you here? Seriously think about what you are asking. If there were everyone would already be doing it.

    People who make money figure out what other people want then they figure out how to get it in front of them.

    There is big money available in any product/service that requires customer acquistion for a term. Example: insurance industry, web hosting, cell phone contracts.

      Of course not. But this forum wouldn't exist if it weren't for people discussing with other people how they earn money or want to earn money with internet marketing. I've helped people and been helped by plenty of people on this forum and others. I don't want a magical formula (well I do, but I don't expect one), I'm just looking for some advice/inspiration guidance.

      I think you a bit hard on the guy here and if you know anything about the hosting industry nowadays a kid can start a "hosting company" for $5 a month. This have been screwing up the market especially with product such as master reseller and alpha reseller packaged around.

      If you ever been on a host where the your domain died and only to find out you were on reseller account belonging to a kid that purchased the reseller account from a "master reseller" and the "master reseller" purchased from a "alpha reseller" The alpha reseller decided to not pay his $10 account and the main supplier cut him off taking out a bunch of reseller hosting companies.

      So basically people are not interested in smaller hosting companies anymore for the reasons mentioned above.

    You can make 3-5k in three to five thousand different ways. Only you can really decide what's best for you, just make sure it's something you can do ten hours a day then focus on that method exclusively.

      I've also been looking for work or even part-time work, but I'm dealing with some medical issues that make it difficult, so whatever I can do from home to supplement my web hosting income is ideal for me.

    Since you are doing good with musical project why don't you focus your effort on it instead of trying another opportunity. I always suggest people not to jump from one opportunity to another. Just stick with one until it is very successful and there is no room to expand. So I would advise you the same.

    Well there are lots method you can do $3k. You would Do Internet Marketing,SEO and lots more Business. You would Invest money and start your own business. So that you can earn lot. But working time must be increase and Handwork must be there.

    You may want to look into Local Internet Marketing. If you don't know what that is that is where you can offer internet marketing services to your local business market. These services can range from seo, creating a website, adding opt-in box to there site and much much more. The sky is the limit when it comes to this business. The thing I love about is You don't need alot of money to start because your clients pay you up front. Hope this was helpfull
