Question about domain names

I need some warrior imput. So here it goes...

What's a good amount of keywords to have in a domain name?

2-4 keywords? weightlossdiet.com, loseweightlowcarbdiet.com?

I just don't know how google will react to this type of stuff. Most of the top sites rank with just a few keywords in the domain.

yeah, that's kinda what I thought about having a real long domain name. Besides, that would be hard to remember.

Depends on how specific your site to be but 3 is a good number. Just make sure the domain name isn't too long.

I agree. If your going for keywords only.... 4 is pretty much the max. Though if you are going for a site that you want people to remember then 2 words works best. I have seen sites on google with 3 to 4 keywords rank as top 1-3.

Like others have said the shorter the better unless the keywords form a very catchy and easy to remember phrase.

FWIW, I concur with the concensus.
Try .com .org .net and then hyphens.
I actually like hyphens for readability and if I was a spider, I'd probably rank it higher.
(But I'm not a spider so I really don't know how that affects anything).
