Affiliate links?

Hi,

Not that I'm thinking of doing this right now but I would like
to know how to set up my site so that I can give out unique
affiliate links to people that want to promote my product and
my question is: Do I need to have a signup area where the user
has a id and a password and do I need a special script that will
generate the unique affiliate links for the affiliates. Or is
there some other way of doing this because I just don't know.

If this is all done with scripts, could you direct me to the
scripts and tutorials for setting them up. I don't even know
how to add a members only area thats password protected or to
track and keep up with the affiliate clicks and who belongs to
what.

    You can sign up with Clickbank for 45 bucks or so and they'll take care of everything for you.
