Keyword Niche Found -- Any Good?

Hi,

I've found a main keyword that gets 1,600 searches according to Market Samurai and has weak competition. It also has a lot of advertisers.

I'm just learning Market Samurai and I'm wondering what else I should be looking for before tackling a niche. To me this seems good...

A few sites in top 10 have no PR or backlinks and one doesn't even have any content!

Thanks in advance.

is that 1,600 searches - [Exact Search] volume? I only use exact search volume as well when assessing the search volume..

If this looks reasonable, then look at the competition ..

    1.600/month or per day?

I am at the point right now where i wont go for keywords less than MANY thousands/day....the reason is there are so many factors:

How many people who search for this will go to your site?
How many people who go to your site will check the offer(s)?
And finally...how many will actually buy?

If you take those three then 1000/day SEARCHES is not a lot to get a decent number of sales.

dont base competition on quantity but the quality of the competition. check the 1st page listed sites and ask yourself if you can get in the 1-3 positions. if so and if exact match search volume is 1600, throw a certian amount of backlinks and see were you land

Actually I'm just learning this system so I changed it to exact match like kaka21 suggested and it's now showing 730 searches per day so I guess that's not enough

Could anyone suggest some type of Market Samurai learning series that will teach me how to find profitable keyword niches?

It's 3am and I'm beating my head against the wall

      Hi

First of all here is a great training area for market samurai
MS training you can learn a lot in here.

Take the time to get a good basic grounding from MS themselves it is a great investment in your time and will help you understand it roots up. There isn't a massive learning curve just a few steps to master and you will be fine.

730 is absolutely a great daily number that is 21,900 searches a month. Based on what you have said so far it sounds like you know what to look for.

I would add make sure the keyword phrase is an area that people are likely to spend money on.

      Good Luck

lol hell yes, at 730 searches per day? you'll be doing just fine for your first time out, believe me, its a lot of work to compete for huge traffic keywords. If you can find 'em great, but it seems like you still have a winner there.

Just get a nice related keyword list and spin about 10 articles 20 times and use those for backlinks and clickthrough traffic. You'll get up there fast enough.

if you want, send me the keyword phrase. I have no interest in taking anyone else's ideas... I've a huge fountain of my own. I'll take a look and tell you my honest opinion.

Thanks ievatel42. I will check that out now. There 11 sponsored links but I don't know how much they are paying. Does MS show you that?

Hi yes it will in a round about sort of way there is an Adwords set of filters in the keyword module just hoover over the three options to see what each does. Select the filter that returns what advertisers are paying at number 1. So adsense revenue to you will be less I use 50% as a rough guide.

I think 750 per day is worth going for. It sounds like one of those keywords that you can rank for quickly, even if you regard the search volume as low. Once you've got near the top spot for it, go after another keyword and build your traffic that way.
