Affiliate Marketing Tips Please

Hi,

I'm new to both affiliate marketing and warrior forum. I've read a lot about affiliate marketing recently, and I'm curious about how well it works and how much money and time one needs to invest in it to earn a decent income. I would appreciate if you would share your experiences about PPC marketing as well as link building. Also, if you could tell me if its better to design an affiliate website (or get it designed), or use Wordpress ( there are is a mention on Wiki of it not being secure).

Many Thanks

Hi, Salman, welcome to the WF.

I use WordPress for my affiliate sites. Is your security worry about getting your site hacked? It can happen but I wouldn't let that stop you from using WordPress. You can learn it yourself; it's not too hard but it's very powerful.

I have lots more free information about AM if you want to e-mail me; info is in my profile.

You can check out my blog it is based around beginners and how to earn money through affiliate marketing. Definitely start your affiliate business out right with a self hosted Wordpress blog. Do not base your affiliate business around blogger they will delete it down the road.

    Hi Salman, welcome!

I don't use PPC (it's risky if you are not an expert at it) and as for link building I've started to use an automation service that uses articles to create the links and the results are great.

As for websites, definitely use wordpress. If you have ready made sites you can hook then up to a wordpress site that will be your hub. BTW - wordpress is getting better at security however you know how people are... you tell them they cant and they will try to prove you wrong.

I have my own product as well and I'm using the Butterfly Marketing Script for that - it is free now

Any or all or a combination of two or more of what you have mentioned might work. It depends on the niche, the action required (fill in their email, CPA, just clicks or what?), and your own liking..

Bottom line, you will have to test, analyse and tweak for the best ROI..

    Cheers!

If you want to know how it works, the best way to really learn is to do it yourself. Don't invest any money just yet, but do it yourself for now so you can get the hang of what works and what doesn't work for you.

Write some articles and submit them to article directories in a few niches, write up a quick review of a product and set it up on a site (Wordpress has always worked well for me), and just pay attention to what works.

If you just starting out what you should do is carry out a market research and find your niche. Once you find your niche rest of the process going to be a lot easier for you, like building website, web content writing or creating your blog, writing articles , etc. There are tons of informations out there but very few of them will provide you with valuable information, so be aware of buying irrelevant ebooks or softwares. Try to find a mentor that can help you to go through whole learning process at beginning It'll save you from making all the unnecessary mistakes and wasting your precious time and money!

    Hi and welcome,
Internet marketing, as any other business, requieres time and work. That' s the first thing you should know. Do not listen to the hype.
You don't need to invest a lot of money to start, however be prepared to spend at least $200-300 in learning and tools.
I know some people will say you can start spending $0. Technicaly, this is true, but as you go, you will see that you need to spend some money to work efficiently.
You can use wordpress or a "traditional" website. But, whatever you choose, buy your own domain.
If you are just starting, and specially if you are in a hot niche, forget PPC (or be prepare to spend a few thousands dollars in it).
Link building requieres work and time. There are a lot of techniques you can use.

I don't know which is your level of knowledge about IM. But before you do anything else, learn. Buy a good book or course and learn the basics first.

For affiliate marketing you should have good knowledge about Search Engine Optimization.
Because traffic of the website is an important factor in affiliate marketing.

Link building or back linking is a great and proved technique for increasing traffic to website.
You can use PPC but my recommendation is don’t use it. Because most of the sites that offer the service are scams.
Wordpress is a great tool for building affiliate website because it is easy to use and you need not to be a specialist for customizing it.

It is all about driving "targeted traffic" to your offer! and understanding what your audience needs.

Sorry i forgot to mention an important thing,

Here is why putting effort into building your own list is the only strategy you'll need for affiliate marketing:

If you are good enough to drive traffic through your hard work straight to an affiliate offer, then you are good enough to drive the traffic to your site so that you can build a list once and promote to the subscribers multiple product over time ( for as many times as you like....) as long as there is value in the offer for them.

Once you have a list you can create a relationship with them, get to know them, survey them, so that you'll know exactly what they want.
So all you gotta do know is find a product that matches what they want, and put it in front of them.

You now know what you need to become a super affiliate....

      hope this helps

The best approach to starting with affiliate marketing is to NOT SELL affiliate products. Confused? Depending upon the niche you have selected, it is usually best to use the listbuilding approach suggested by others.

Give away useful stuff to those who sign up for your list and embed your affiliate offerings in the emails you send out. Giving away valuable info creates goodwill and customer loyalty if you do it correctly. Your list members will actually read what you send them and won't mine a bit of selling in your emails. Especially if your affiliate offers are low key and actually add value.

You are making this work at home stuff way harder than it is. Ready for some sanity? Clear your head and start over.

    Hi there!

ok here is my 2 cents.

Please do not buy ebooks on affiliate marketing because they are all a waste of money if you are just starting out.

The reason is because you have to understand the nature of an affiliate business first. You see product owners make big bucks with theirs product launches BECAUSE they spend time setting up as many affiliate ventures they can before they even got the product ready. They rely on affiliate marketers to make the big checks.

Now this mean also another thing.

If you are a great marketer and you know your way around finding the right product to promote, conduct a deep keyword research, check out the competition level for S.E.O., generate a great deal of keyword targeted useful content, maybe create a site for the promotion, and do it well enough to beat the other hundreds of affiliate promoting the very same product during launch phase, then you stand a good chance.
Of course you do not need any of that if you do already have a responsive list of subscribers.

So the smart way to go about affiliate marketing is to build an online presence with your site, build a list with it and then go find the right products to promote to your subscribers.

That's the only strategy you'll ever need. If you need private help PM, and please do browse this forum and you'll get all the answers you'll need.

    Keep it up

Not all ebooks on affiliate marketing are made a like.
Some are actually very good in teaching the fundamentals.

I know mine is one of those

  • One very basic and powerful way of affiliate marketing is through blogging. If you want to be good affiliate marketer, choose a niche where you think you can excel and start a blog. Read the other famous blogs in same niche and comment there so that people get to know you and they come to visit your blog. Make people come to your blog and read it. This serves the 1st step of getting traffic. The second thing comes that you must provide good content that people stay at your blog. You get these two things done.. you can always attract online business person's to make you the affiliate marketer for their site.

    Hi Salman,

In my opinion the single most effective
skill for making money online or off is
    copywriting.

Learn how to write effective sales copy.

This will help you in every aspect of
    your marketing career. From writing
great ads for PPC and classifieds to
full page sales letters for affiliate
    products or products you create.

    Being able to write compelling
headlines for your articles to traffic
grabbing titles for your blog posts.

Every message you create will have
more pulling power and boost the
    effectiveness of your campaigns saving
    you money and time.

You can start learning right here
on the warrior forum, check out the
    copywriting forum to get oriented.

If you are already a War Room Member,
than you already have a mountain of
material at your disposal for learning
not only copywriting, but almost all
    aspects of online marketing.

    If not...

    What are you waiting for

As you can see from all the replies you got - each focuses on the subject he or she feel most competent at.

All skills are important but you do not have to be perfect in them all. Learn it all and then build you expertise in whatever you feel passionate about.

This is why I think it's important to get a good foundation when you start off.

    Wishing you success!
