Article Directory question

I am no sure of what you're asking. Are you wondering if it is a good idea for writers to submit non original work?

No ! On my article directory, articles had to be original but sould I allow everybody to copy the articles like on ezinearticles ?

Hmmmn... I think you're asking if it'll be good for your venture if you allowed people to copy content on your directory and publish the content unchanged with the bio box and links on their sites?

Well, that's content syndication, and...

...authors building backlinks and trying to gain wider exposure of their content and backlinks would want to submit to a directory which allows content syndication... why?

Because this allows authors to gain wider target reader exposure of their content since others who copy their content and publish it unchanged on their sites usually have pages covering the same niches, microniches and keywords they're targeting, plus that's more backlinks for them since their content remains unchanged along with their links...

...but another thing to consider would be exclusivity, which would sorta separate you from the pack of directories that's already on the Internet...

...'cause if you begin to build up content as well as if the PR of your pages and your directory's domain increase, more people would want to submit content to your directory, even for a price so to say, making it more valuable than others.

...and if at first you allowed others to syndicate on their sites content published on your directory, I don't think a lot of people will like it if you don't accept content published on other directories even if it was from the same authors.

You decide, but I suggest planning it further with more extensive projections.

I want to provide the best service for authors but if an author receives thousands of links from pages with duplicate content, I wonder if it could be negative for their SEO.

For me it is not a problem to allow anyone to copy article. Google don't like duplicate content then it could penalize sites that have links from these duplicate content.
