Can you replicate clickbank product sites?

Hello Warriors

I have a noticed a few websites out there that are identical in way they look and content to the clickbank product/site they are promoting but under a different domain name.
Is this allowed? and how would i go about setting this up?
The main page and order page are identical to the main clickbank product site and when you hit the order button to get to the order form it shows their affiliate= so they get the commision.

Anybody able to advise on how i would set this up.

Any questions you have I won't be able to answer till Monday as going away for a few days to watch black eyed peas....

Thanks in advance

Rob

Maybe what you are seeing is that some people just buys a domain and direct link to the merchant's product via an iframe. Some hosting will refer to it as domain masking.

SO you actually buy a domain and link to the merchant but the domain remains the same in your browser.

    hope that helps

I think some IM's provide their affiliates with duplicate sites. I got one in the health niche when I signed up as an affiliate.

I think you would have to get the permission of the site owner if you wanted to set up an identical site as it would be a copyright infringement.

Why go to all that trouble though when you can send people to your own landing page first if you want to build a list or directly to the sales page through an affiliate link or a redirect with your own domain name as already suggested.

I agree you are seeing an affiliate page masked with a domain this is common practice with professional marketers and is simple to do buy a domain name .info is best its the cheapest then just point it to your affiliate link. It only takes a few minutes to mask a link this way.

I build mini sites for my clickbank products. You are allowed to use the logo's and copy and paste some of the wording but you can not replicate the site. They do have redirect links to their websites.

Mini Sites are the best way to go

Masked domains are also known as frames, and they are a BAD idea for affiliate marketers because they don't always drop the cookie.

    From the CB website:
"Don’t mask or store your HopLink in a frame. For your HopLinks to be properly tracked, they must not be stored in a frame. If your domain is masked, your HopLink will be stored in this manner, and therefore will be unreliable."

I have been curious about this for a long time. Some of these sites show well in the SERPs, but it seems Google must recognize that the content appeared first on the product vendor's page so I wouldn't guess they would show that well.

Having said that, many, many, many affiliates do this. I've see full sales pages that look exactly like mine, but when I click to order I do see the affiliate showing on the CB processing page. I have mixed feelings. Part of me says the sales page is mine and they should create their own pre-sell or landing page, but some of them do generate sales, so I guess a sale is a sale.

Still don't know if I like it, but it is what it is I guess. --Mike

        Hello all

Many thanks for all your ideas and help.

        1. If I buy a domain and use a mask redirect then this will not perform well in the search engines would It? Guess this would be more suited to ppc and article marketing traffic then?

        2. Maybe building a mini site is the way to go if I want to appear naturally in the long term and also can use for ppc and articles etc. From the page how would i deep link to the sales page on the merchants site as i would want to skip their sales page?

        Thanks again.

    • I totally agree Rondo. Believe it or not - I still remember this after about 5 years - what happen was that I actually tested this when a good friend of mine went to my clickbank affiliate site and went to purchase from my affiliate link. At that time I had the domain masking on that link.

The result? No Sale! So I am a witness that you would be taking a risk when you mask your affiliate link.

I also heard it from other marketers too.

It's tricky really.. though I would mostly check on what your clickbank affiliate has, such as pictures, text, video, and testimonials to use

There was a wso like a yr ago for a product that cloned a clickbank or paydotcom site and after 10 seconds it would redirect to the official site with your affiliate id already in place. It was an actual index file you uploaded to your site. I cant remember exactly how it worked or what it was called but i think the info i gave was correct. I will have to see if i can find it again.

Edit: Its called Affiliate Hijacker and it doesnt use frames/iframes. You can also set it so it only redirects once the user clicks on something. You can also add your own Banner to the site as well. Its pretty nifty.
