Help using Windows Notepad

I plan to use Vista Print to mail custom postcards to offline business prospects and follow up the mailing with a phone call but I can't figure out how to properly format Windows Notepad.

If anybody would share how to change the phone number format in data that is saved in Notepad from (example): (800) 123-4567 to 8001234567, I would surely appreciate your help.
