Advice required about statsblaster 7.0 software

Hello

Has anyone used a freeware piece of software called statsblaster. I have read about it on various forums.

I have read that it can submit your site to 32K stat and whois sites free to help with backlinking.

If you google statsblaster or statblaster then you will find a link about it.

It has also been said that the above software contains a trojan or virus. If anyone has used this software can you confirm this please and does anyone have a link to the main site.

    I never heard of this software until you mentioned it. i went ahead and googled it and downloaded version 7.0.

    Having suspicions about whether it's safe or not, I just ran it in Virtualbox on a Windows VM after taking a snapshot of the machine first. I'm not even going to virus scan the program, I'm just letting it run and when it's through I'll revert the virtual windows machine back to it's original state.

    The software is pretty nifty. Right now it's processed about 5% of the 32K sites in the URL's file. Fun stuff indeed.

    I don't think you're going to find a main site for it though. It was released on some forum under a creative commons license.
