Hello,

This is my first post in this forum. I have recently started a screen printing business (mostly t-shirts and other apparel). I have been hitting my local area for the last three months and it has been a great success. My prices are low and my quality is great. I have fast turn around times, usually 3 to 4 business days, and now have a small faithful client base. However, I want to expand. I think the internet is the right way to go. I caught the attention of all the local business owners by these two specials, 1 color print for $3.50 a tee minimum order of 12 and 2 color prints for $4.50 a tee for a minimum of 12 shirts. I hope to utilize these same specials online to generate and expand my business. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

    Research other like businesses and see what their sites look like and what they offer and work on your own unique selling proposal. Then create your site and market it to the proper crowd.

    Ok, here is what I recommend you should do.

    1-Create a work plan - what you are hoping to accomplish, who you want to reach, where you want to sell, and what you are hoping to accomplish.
    2-Research - Look online and find out what other sites similar to the one you are hoping to establish are doing. How much are they charging? What is the difference between your work and theirs? What companies do they work with for shipping?
    3-Choose a name for your website (if you do not have a name for the business yet) and check for availability of domain. Buy it as soon as you can
    4-Decide who will design your site. Or you can also purchase pre-designed sites.
    5-Begin working on the content of the site.
    6-Think about logistics and how you will handle large volume of sales. Open up a merchant account with shipping companies. Decide about payment options and so on.

    As you can see, there are quite a lot of things to take care of. Once your site is ready then you have to optimize it and start promoting. So, you need to plan ahead and get organized. Otherwise you'll be all over the place and nothing will get accomplished.
