EzineArticles & GoArticles Questions...

Hi,

After reading many posts here,
I am starting to see that the
2 best article directories are:
- Ezinearticles
- GoArticles

Now, do you get penalized if you
submit the SAME article in these
2 sites?

THey are ONLY 2 sites...so was wondering
if I could do this...

I don't think so, I have many articles on both sites and even hundreds of other article directories.

I doubt they would penalize you - if anything one article directory (EZA) would just take a higher ranking than the other.

At least that's what I understand the duplicate content "penalty" to be.

      Hi BJ,

They won't penalize you for doing that. But only one of them will show up in the search engines, due to the duplicate content rule.

There are exceptions though (ex: when one article webpage is significantly different in structure, form, etc. from the other)

The bright side is that both of them gets good traffic; so even if only one shows up in the search engines, you'll get traffic from the article directory itself.

      Cheers,
      Michael

No penalty if you submit the same article.

I've have/had numerous articles that were on the 1st page of google with Ezinearticles, Articlesbase, and Propeller (when they accepted articles from ezinearticles). Same article. It's a beautiful thing.

I'm sure if I used a few other little known article sites, I would have had more than 3 spots on the 1st page for the same article (often I did because of people publishing the articles).

I call it the "Follow the Leader" strategy.

But to be clear, I rarily do that since it's mostly a waste of time since for traffic, you only need Ezinearticles. Now, if you're looking for high slotted links, spread the same article out.

I may start submitting my articles already on ezines to goarticles then.

    Do you think it's wise?

I have submitted to both but always re-write the goarticles one and alter the title slightly to be on the safe side.

I have always submitted the EXACT same article to Ezine and GoArticles. No problem at all.

In fact, they DO both show up in the search engines, sometimes on the same page!

I would submit to both if I were you, but just a word of warning - Ezine Articles is getting VERY difficult to deal with lately!
