What do you spend money on?

What to you spend your hard earned money on to promote your IM business?

I have been in the directory business for 6 or 7 years now. Still a good business but there is no question that it has seen a decline in demand in the last couple of years.

The reason I ask this question is obvious.

Here is what I spend money on right now:

*Article writing
*Blog set-up
*Directory submissions

Sure. I like spending money on things that get results,
like solo ad's, PPC, paying money to distribute articles,
backlinks, all the mundane tasks I don't care to do.

Man, spending money to generate traffic gets a bad
rap these days. Spending money get's you immediate
results, and it allows you to find out what works and
    what doesn't almost immediatly.

It actually, speeds up the learning curve. Because,
waiting for traffic to get to your website by slower
methods, makes adjusting your sails much slower.

Only after I've done enough tests with paid traffic,
do I consider to use free traffic. As in, only when I
have a WINNING campaign on my hands.

Went off on a tangent there, but you got my answer

Although you did not say it outright, I take it that you spend on PPC to test.

What I am looking for are ideas of services that I could provide. That is why I want to know what you would pay for.

I can not provide PPC but I wish I could!

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

    Hi Hottuna
All good points. With all the media attention, I would start putting some money into videos. It often will make a good impression of you and build trust. Especially if you can make it entertaining at the same time.

The question I am asking myself is- Can I make a business of creating videos for IM'ers to use in marketing?

The answer for me, is no. Does not mean it is not a great idea for others.

I don't really outsource that much but I tend to spend money on automation and other types of software.

I must admit that I've made my biggest spends recently on social media automation, article submission automation and a spinning tool so anything that provides an all in one solution for these things can't be bad if marketed correctly eg see Big Mikes stuff or SENuke..

Direct advertising mostly, domain names, hosting, informational products (which I also resell). I often find that free advertising isn’t all that effective in converting to sales, I tend to have more luck paying for it. I’ve also paid for traffic in the past.
