When do you stop being a newbie???

Reason I ask this is because i've listened to webinars, bought software, read forums, etc, etc but I still haven't made anything substantial money wise.

I've made under £10 with adsense and only a few pounds with affiliate sales in just over a year. crap i know but it's been a steep learning curve for me during this time plus i had other major things to deal with in my personal life.

Right now I don't feel like a newbie at all but financially it seems i still am.

So, what in your opinion makes a newbie stop being a newbie?

A. when you start making money regularly?

or

b. when you feel you have enough knowledge (not nesessarily making money yet)

There are alot of people saying that they're newbies on this forum but i wonder if they really are?

Would be interesting to see what you guys think.

If you think you might still be a newbie, you are still a newbie.

    Hello,
I think you stop being a newbie when you are able to help some one else.

Depends on your definition of newbie. Is a newbie someone who just started learning about all this making money stuff, or someone who may know the concepts but has yet to make any true money?

Learning never stops, regardless of where you stand. There's always something new to discover or something to improve on.

Are you sure that you are taking enough action? Reading, buying and visiting webinars won't help you. You need to make it happen. I have been there myself. But problem was, that i didn't do it. You need to take action and make it happen.

Oh, and in internet marketing...nobody is perfect. Every day, there is something new to learn.

A newbie is someone fresh in the game, but in some way we could all be newbies since each and every day there's something new to learn and a new experience to gain!

I would say more so choice B, but in my opinion you're no longer a newbie when you your comfortable in the internet marketing game and you yourself no longer refer to yourself as a newbie.

You're no longer a newbie when you can go up to bat and hit any pitch thrown at you, even the curve ball. When you have all the accounts already set up like: godaddy, hostgator, adsense, amazon, cpalead, youtube, ezine articles, scribd, + 100 more. Only newbies beg for review copies, especially after there are already 50 reviews. Newbies use the word then instead of than and there instead of their.
Newbies don't have Camtasia, Filezilla, Open Office, SeNuke, Twitter software, Yahoo Answers Software, Backlinking software, Article Spinning software,
CCleaner, proxies, paypal, Visa Card, Skype, VLC Media Player etc. I'm sure that's not even half of it.
We should put together a complete newbie pack of all the "stuff" needed
    to get into this business.

    • I agree with you in fact I thought I had most of the items you listed, but too my surprise was not subscribed to some of the services mentioned in your post so thanks for the heads up.

A list or newbie pack is a great idea.

Honestly I 'll agree with all you said because for anybody to have all the resources and experience you mentioned above, men definitely such person can not be referred to as a newbie.

      Never.

After 7 plus years of doing this, I am still learning.

For every person out there who thinks he knows it all, there is somebody
else out there who has more knowledge in his pinkie thank that other person
      has in his whole body.

I'll stop being a newbie when I can make money just from breathing.

That's really the right answer, but who wants to be an
OLDBIE anyway? That's why women wear makeup.

When you are making full-time income from this.

However, you are always going to be a newbie at SOMETHING in internet marketing. Example, you may be a wizz at SEO and make $20K a month from it but have no clue about video marketing.

But when you are successful, you are no longer a newbie at success in this field, but that doesn't mean you know everything. It always makes me laugh when someone asks an innocent question about something they don't know about, cpa for example, and get accused of being a newbie and the poster is making tens of thousands every month already with what they do. Just because you are newbie at one area of IM does not make you a newbie in IM, in general.

I say a newbie is a person who doesn't understand 'internet marketing' is about marketing ANY product online - Plus building a real business, not a series of websites with some ads slapped onto them.

There's a big difference between an entrepreneur and a newbie. Everything in between I like to call an internet marketer
