To get followers be sure to post useful comments on Twitter. Give your followers a reason to follow you.

As for finding other Internet marketers, use the search function at Twitter. You can search phrases like "internet marketer", "internet marketing", etc. Twitter will pull up users who have the phrase in their user name, hobbies, occupation. It may take a little brainstorming to come up with all the phrases that will find the right people.

Then, follow them. That will bring you up on their radar.

I've just started using a wordpress plugin so every time i post
a new blog topic it aggregated to twitter as well and I've already
seen a few new twitter followers signing up...

Everywhere you post or make comments is a potential advertising
      source to get new followers..

Unless you post like I do. I think I scare away about half my followers. I picture them going, "Now there's a sensible marketer with some good info." Then, they come back the next day, read some silly tripe I've posted and yell, "RUN AWAY!"

Seriously, if you want lots of followers do not use my Twittering as a guide to your own. Unless of course you want to be labeled "lunatic".

So it's basically I add you and you add me, my icon shown up in their twitter page and when people click on my icon to my twitter page, if they find it interesting, they follow me, am I right?

I like it when people just chat normally about what they;re doing instead of always a link somewhere.. just follow people and they will follow you, then just start socializing and posting stuff.
Put your twitter link in your sig
You could also put it in your blog posts too.. I bet if you made a post about how you'll follow people if they follow you, you'll get a lot of followers that way.

There's a Twitter social group on the Warrior Forum. http://www.warriorforum.com/groups/t...followers.html

Go follow all of the people on there, and list your name on there and say you are interested in having people follow you.

    Also, follow these people:

I just wrote a blog post all about how to increase followers on twitter:

7 Ways To Get 1000 Followers On Twitter

I think Twitter really comes down to COMMUNICATION and RELATIONSHIPS. You've got to engage in conversations and be willing to reply to people's DM or follow them back.

Be and do things on Twitter worthy of being followed by many.

It's up to you how you define that.

also how to find the followers who are interested in Internet Marketing?
    Twitter Search

Search for Internet marketing, and explore the results. You'll find folks interested
    in Internet marketing.

    Hope this helps.

    All success

One way would be if you start a thread about Twitter in an Internet Marketing forum to have something similar to "Are You Following Me Yet?" and a link to your twitter page in your sig.

Most of the ways I've been getting signups have been mentioned. I try to post interesting things in between my ramblings.. and just have fun.

But in the beginning especially I used Twellow; the other day I popped in there and added a half a dozen and many of them followed me back.. I also just found others who were being followed by a lot of people and I followed the best of those.

I don't just follow anyone though.. does it matter? Don't know.. this is just how I approach it.

..and maybe this is something to note.

I try and follow people that follow me. I like to reciprocate.

But, I don't follow those that:

        -- Are just posting ads
-- Are just posting to their blog articles and/or other links.. no personality.
-- And.. if someone has something like 1997 people they are following and are being followed by 180.. or something along those lines. They probably just joined, are mass following to get followers and could care less about what I'm saying so why should I bother? (I'm trying to nurture and build a high quality follower list)

So don't do those things and do more than promote your stuff and I'm peraonally likely to follow you.

I also include Follow Me links in my sigs.. and even in my e-mail sigs to my list. No reason not to cross pollinate. Be creative..

        Good Luck!

I don't actually agree with that last one. I did that when I joined. I now have almost 1800 followers. What I do, when I see that someone is following at on of people and has few followers, is look at their tweets and their website and see if they are interesting.

I'm fairly indiscriminate in who I'll follow - basically
any Warrior. I'm not likely to click on links but if
your tweets indicate to me that we share values
    I might be intrigued.

Basically - be interesting and not so self-centered
on getting traffic to your website or affiliate promotions.

Or send him a pm for a public promotion like this...http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...ase-study.html

Vegasvince has around 500 followers in days

Another approach is to twitter on more than one topic - I get a fair number of followers who find me by looking for topics other than business and marketing - means a more diverse twitter crowd.

What do you means by twitter on more than one topic, how to do that?

My interpretation would be just talk about your daily life - I talked about how my Panasonic Lumix camera died last night just as I was heading out to my son's JRTOC promotion ceremony, I talk about how I just sent a bunch of articles out to a client, I talk about how my dogs refuse to let me sleep in late on weekends - I try to be humourous, and not just talk about work.

Upside - if people are searching www.search.twitter.com to find people who are talking about cameras, they will come across my Tweet about my camera and may follow me. Downside - These people aren't necessarily interested in internet marketing and may have no potential to become clients or buyers.

I usually get 10 people/day following me on Twitter

Here are a few things that I do:

Join Twitter Groups on Professional Networks like Ecademy and Ryze (to name a few) and give a blurb about me and my twits.

Join Twitter Groups in Forums and ditto above.

Give personal updates mixed in w/business. I've had more people respond to my crazy kid drama than business at times. Then they asked about my business. People generally like to buy from people they know.

I will ask an interesting question or ask them to vote in my poll that generates many people to answer and follow.

Everyone that follows me I send them a personal message thanking them.

Every time you send an email have your twitter link in the signature.

Keep up to date with what I'm doing:
    Twitter / andrewstark

Doing this means that you can build a relationship with your subscribers. If people know that you support a certain football team, regulary watch movies, share youtube content, or what your political view is.

Going out and following 2,000 people is a bit like spamming, so go slow, and it's always good to have more followers than following.
