Blogger Summarily Deleted a Quality Blog!! Help

Hey all. First time back after quite a break. I have a serious situation. My blogger blog (one that I was only days from transferring to my own servers) was just deleted, siting spam. This blog has never once been a spam site at all, over 4 years of quality posts. Tons of material on that site, none of which was even hinting towards monetizing or an attempt to solicit business from my readers. Certainly not spam at all.

Please tell me they can't just disappear my material like that with absolutely no explanation or justifiable reason.

I had many subscribers (over 800) as well. All I can think of is that someone hacked into the blog recently or something along those lines. Otherwise there is simply no good reason for google to take this action and I am extremely pi$$ed.

I haven't even written anything fresh on that site for months, so for them to just delete it like this is disturbing to say the least.

Anyone here know how I can contact blogger to plead a case and perhaps get more details as to what happened? Bloody hell I wish I had transferred that site last week when I initially wanted to.

Guys, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    You can contact them and try to get it back after a human review.

    What was the topic/subject matter? Sometimes certain subjects are labeled as "spam" even if they seem to be 'quality' to the beholder.

    If the subject was "making money", that in and of itself usually is just cause for them.

      Thanks for the reply Greg. Do you know how to contact them? I can find no contact form regarding this, no phone number, nothing at all.

      The subject matter was nutrition, and under no circumstances was there one sentence written there for years that could be even loosely defined as spam. If the account was not hacked, I'm thinking that perhaps a competitor reported the blog in order to shuffle me off.

      If you know how I can get in touch with google r.e. this nightmare I would greatly appreciate it mate.

    to reclaim your blog from them. your content isn't deleted for good. but it might take you anywhere from a few days to an entire month to get your blog back.

    Blogger has been nuking blogs for years like this.

    More so in the past few weeks. I'm afraid to say that you have no option here but to move on. You might get the content back from them, but that's it.

    Seriously, I hate having to state the obvious to you, but relying on blogger for stuff like this was a mistake. 2 of my VERY big blogs were nuked last month by blogger for similar reasons.

    It didn't affect my business really, so I'm not too fussed, but they were quality blogs I had for years. It just so happened that I had no real need for them so I let them stay on blogger and eventually, they got nuked.

    Blogger won't budge on this issue.

      It doesn't hurt to ask for a review. I know several people who had this happen and their blogs were reinstated. Don't just write it off until you try.

      Of course, if it goes back up, copy it instantly for a backup.

      Thanks Jay,

      Yep I was aware of the site being subject to google tempers and thus had planned on a move this week. I just purchased the domain yesterday, and set aside Monday next week to redirect the site.

      However they feel about it that material was mine, and as long as they allow me to retrieve it I will have no problem recreating the site on my own server. It's not like I was making heaps of money from it, and I can always SEO a new site back to the #1 spot I enjoyed with that blogger blog within a month or so.

      It's just a principle for me. Spending all that time writing quality posts and gaining thousands of positive comments and hundreds of subscribers, well it's just frikin sad that blogger can't at least have some kind of arbitration process before summarily killing years of work and effort at their whim and tempermant.

      What a bunch of entitled pr!cks they must have at google, rifling through people's work and pushing the button as if they are God. I'm so disappointed.

        Oooooh Yes! You are so right about that.

        But my Adsense checks are big....lolz... and I spend and make too much with Adwords to start fighting with them

    Even if you did not backup your old posts, everything is not lost.

    If your subscribers were through Feedburner, you can start a new blog (hopefully on Wordpress), and "move" your subscribers to it.

      Mine weren't inactive. They were old... started them years back, but they were still very active.

      Blog was not inactive at all. I was receiving comments every day on various posts. Also, my last article was March of this year, and previous to that I had written an average of 5 posts a week for about 4 years, all for those miserable buggers at blogger.

      I should have listened to my instincts I guess. Looked the site over last week and said to myself "there's a helluva lot of stuff here, I better mover this off of blogger." Just wish I had done that right away.

    Here is the easiest way to find out exactly what you have to do...

    Get a hold of Alan Liew and find out exactly what he had done to get his blog back online after being offline for about 6 days. He was also cited for SPAM...
