Does anyone know if there is a way to add description to archive pages on wordpress.org

INTERNET MARKETING

I ask because website grader says that the description for my archive and feed pages are missing, I tried to search for the info but can't find any info on the topic.

Will this have a negative effect on my overall seo?

Is there a fix for the problem?

Yes there is a way. Download the Headspace2 plugin for Wordpress and activate it: WordPress › HeadSpace2 SEO WordPress Plugins

Then under 'Settings' on the WP dashboard click 'Headspace'. This allows you to have custom title, descriptions and tags for each type of page.

As to whether it's negative - Google doesn't penalize for elements that aren't in place. In all, Google doesn't use Meta info for SEO purposes anyway.

  According to this article, yes it will conflict. I don't know if it can be tailored to work only on certain pages or not... you'll probably have to play with it to see.

  I wouldn't worry about it too much from an SEO perspective but if you want to add a description AND keep the All In One SEO pack, it can be done.
  
  You could just add the description to your archives.php page (providing your theme has one). The description could be hard-coded to this page.
  
  If your theme doesn't have an archives.php page, you can create one.
