What is the best way to buy domain names for clients?

Hi,

I need help on this..suggestions are really appreciated.

I'm will be holding a mini workshop on IM for my local business owners soon. I'm planning to offer each of them a .com domain name and hosting. As this is my first time organizing a workshop, I'm having a hard time to determine the best way for me to deliver this offer to them. I will choose godaddy as the registrar. The participants will register the domain name on the day of the workshop because I plan to brief them on the correct way to choose a domain name before they actually register the domain name. These are my questions:

1. Should I buy gift coupons?
2. Do godaddy offer bulk gift coupon purchase?
3. Is there any other way besides gift coupons?

Now on hosting..I plan to use hostgator reseller package:
1. Is this the best way?
2. What the "ideal" size of space and bandwidth to offer to each of the participant?

Thank you for your help and time!

Shahif

Don't some hosts offer a free domain name with purchase?
(Arvixe has a nice affiliate program and a domain name comes with the purchase)

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Dont buy domain and hosting separately

Godaddy provides domain for just $1.99 if you buy a hosting package with them. Go for that only and it might just save you lot of money in domain registration.

Moreover 1and1.com gives away one free domain with each new hosting account. You might be interested in that.

Whatever you decide, you should keep your domain and hosting separate for diversification purposes.

thanks dvduval and tajimd... I chose godaddy and hostgator because they are among the best around.

Godaddy is good as registrar but they ask for a separate hosting for each domain..which is not good for a long run.

Forgot to mention that I need hosting with cpanel (fantastisco)..

    Shahif,
If you are planning to repeat this workshop, suggest you become a Godaddy reseller. I personally never recommend Godaddy for hosting but suggest you have a look at Knownhost, I have been with them for the past tree years and their customer service is prompt and efficient. They may not be the cheapest but offer many features for professional webmasters.

Michael, Rahika and David thanks for your suggestions!

They say "don't put all eggs in one basket"... this is the reason I go for separate accounts..

Contacting their customer support is a good move..I'll do that

Now, I think the best way for me to be reseller for domain and hosting..
