which option should I choose? (probably a dumb question, lol)

I'm wanting to create an ebook and a video course...

They will both cover the exact same content...I just want to have an ebook format and a video course format of the product.

What would make my life easier?

Option 1) Creating the ebook first and then creating the videos based off the ebook?

Option 2) or recording the videos first and then paying someone to transcribe it? (and I'd end up finalizing the ebook content to make sure it all looks good)

Please share your thoughts and/or experiences on product creation and which option you think would be best. Thanks!

    Both ways could go

However, if I were you I would take the second option. That way you would have to stand alone products.

In my opinion, the first option you will need to videos to backup the ebook in order to have a complete product. For the second, the videos could be one product and the transcribed ebook would be another.

So in essence, you could sell the ebook alone and also add the videos as an upsell.

Just my opinion, hope that helps.

I think it would be best to plan out both at the same time. I've seen products where there's both versions but the video product misses out a lot of what's in the pdf files and vice versa. As you're writing your e-book, take notes on how to present all the info in your videos, whether it's in a powerpoint/keynote presentation or whether it's 'over the shoulder' style narrating through examples on the net. Hope that helps a little and all the best for your product!
