We are developing our first product and plan to have it available for sale in 14 days. MY plans is to have a list of 1500 people that will receive the offer. Obviously it depends on the list. People on the list will opt in to receive free instructional videos and then we will be offering a 50 videop product. I have no idea what to think. 1% 2% 7% ????? Also lets say I have used a decent Autoresponder series in which they have been provided awesome content in each one. 2% would be 30 purchases which is good. But 10% and 150 purchases I will be dancing in the streets. Non IM related prodcut. |

If it's a new list you're building, 1 - 2% sounds realistic but there are a lot of variables like how long your launch sequence is, using teleseminars, or if the list will be built from other people's list that you JV with.

1-2% seems fair. However, I'd be more concerned with getting a baseline reading with at least 1000 page views. Then start doing A/B split tests to improve headlines, call to actions, benefit bullets, etc. Then slowly increase your purchase rate. You could also throw in an OTO to increase revenue. Big thing is just GET IT OUT THERE and then start tweaking...if you've done your research...you should have no problem making sales and then just improving your conversions. Cheers, Brad Spencer |

Like cashola said there are a lot of variables.. it depends on how targeted, how pre-sold they are when they hit your site, what 'type' of customer they are.. the quality of your offer. You can provide a lot of awesome content to a market of freebie seekers and tire kickers. |

i think the 1% and 2% predictions are too low.. using an autoresponder sequence sent to prospects who've actually opted-in should give you a much better conversion rate. Over 7% of my opt-ins purchase a product from me within 1 week. Before I put up my squeeze pages, I was sending that same traffic (ppc) straight to my affiliate links, and I didn't even get a fraction of 1%.. I went from MAYBE 1 sale a week, to several sales a day.. all from the same traffic. |

There's far too many variables to determine how many sales you'll make. 0-50% are all realistic numbers depending on how that list has been taken care of, presell materials, quality of the product, where the leads came from, sales page, etc. I've personally had lists that convert from less than 1% up to ~25%. I know it's fun/smart to think about what the potential is, but this is one of those things where there are simply too many inputs to give a reasonable estimate. You'll know the answer soon, so just keep working hard to make a great product that your list can't refuse. |

We don't know what the deliverability is. We don't know what the open rate is. We don't know what the clickthrough rate is. We don't know what the conversion rate of the site is. So how can we possibly estimate with any accuracy how many sales there will be? | |

awesome answers guys. I'm just focused on building the list now and working on the email series. I will worry about conversions later. Test, Test, Test seems to be the call of the day.
