Default Where is the best place to sell your website?

I built an e-commerce site that was never launched for a number of reasons. Now I'd like to sell it but I wondered what is the best way to do this and get the best possible price.

I appreciate any feed back on this.

Thanks
Mike

Try Sitepoint.com It's a real active site for web traffic... lots of other goodies there too. Look for the 'marketplace'.

Links for the lazy

SitePoint Marketplace - Buy & sell established web sites, startup and turnkey websites and more

Look at Biz MP - Home of the online business marketplace too.

SitePoint is a great place to sell your websites but for those who are reading this and have a more established websites that are earning a nice income, finding yourself a website broker is the hot ticket.

The reason website broker's work so well because often they have prequalified investors lined up ready to jump on pretty much anything that's automated. Income Automation appeals to investors.

They also usually have a huge network of resources including Angel investors.

Also when you get with a website broker it's not uncommon to get a substantial amount more money than just flipping it on the web somewhere like in a forum or on eBay.

Three times net yearly profits is typical but they can go to 25 times net yearly profit as well too.

Numbers you simply can't ignore.

Website broker arn't for everybody because they don't take everybody.

But for those people who would like to get a lot more money for their websites that have a consistent track record of making sales then I highly suggest you get with a website broker.

I used site point, but I found the site felt dodgy is the only way I can really describe it. It's the same as the difference I "feel" between the warrior forum and digital point.

I've never had any problems with Sitepoint and I've sold well over 30 sites there - I've never had problems with any buyers there either (so far anyway!). If you use Escrow you should be fine.

I've bought and sold sites on sitepoint.
Use your due diligence, make escrow.com mandatory, don't be afraid to be stringent on your terms and if they don't work for the seller, back out.

On various occasions I've worked out deals with the buyers or sellers to have so many days in escrow.com to see how the site performs (of course holding back pertinent information like PPC campaigns etc - also written up in your escrow.com agreement)

I got started in Internet Marketing buy purchasing a site making a few thousand bucks a month many years ago. It was the riskiest thing I had ever done. I was in University in the time and DID NOT have the money. Needless to say it was a solid deal that paid off.
